Just give 'em all 10 from me. One of the best albums of the 1960s imo, truly amazing step back in time.

10/10 is perfection, it's like calling something flawless, so I rarely do that.

Break on Through (To the Other Side) - 9/10
    Soul Kitchen - 8.5/10
    The Crystal Ship - 8/10
    Twentieth Century Fox - 7/10
Alabama Song (Whisky Bar) - 8/10
    Light My Fire - 9/10
    Back Door Man - 8/10
    I Looked At You - 6/10
End of the Night - 8/10
Take It As It Comes - 8/10
    The End - 9.5/10

As a whole I would rate it as one of the great albums of all time.

As well all know, no album can truly be perfection or totally flawless, so a 10 is more saying as good as it can possibly reasonably get. If you don't use the 10 then you're ranking out of 9 which doesn't make a lot of sense.

    Me too.

Both song and book inspired by William Blake I think

"Some are Born to sweet delight
Some are Born to sweet delight
Some are Born to Endless Night"

Auguries of Innocence by William Blake

Although I think Blake is the paramount inspiration in terms of imagery and atmosphere.

Lol, I won't dictate what you can and can't use. I mean 9 and 11 don't make any sense to me but if that's the way you want to do it go right ahead!

    Twentieth Century Fox - 8/10
Alabama Song (Whisky Bar) - 10/10
    Light My Fire - 10/10
    Back Door Man - 10/10

End of the Night - 10/10
Take It As It Comes - 7/10
    The End - 10/10

Somewhat off topic but I sometimes waver between the debut and Waiting for the Sun as my Doors pick (I think Waiting...was saved because they nixed the celebration of the lizard and trimmed it to Not to Touch the Earth (which is my favorite Doors song). I find Waiting near perfect and never understand its ‘miss’ rep. I know it’s a hodgepodge but it works

This rating game does nothing for me; scoring songs that will be sending shivers up the spines of generations unborn, when we are long gone. This album is a masterpiece.

You don’t have to play. And it just a game, so treat it as such. It doesn’t undermine the power and legacy of the music.

I have no idea why it says favourite Doors song next to End Of The Night ... I like it, but it isn't .... Hmmm what did I do there?

I'm not lazy, I rate it high as this record is amongst my big favorites.

[Edit:] I also really love 'Indian Summer', which was recorded during those sessions but it wasn't released until Morrison Hotel.
Guess it sounded too similar like 'The End'?

Maybe you meant 'The End' instead of 'End Of The Night'? Both include the word 'End'. lol

If not for the Alabama Song, it would be perfect ... That track is ok, but I'm not a big fan of it

Idk ... I saw the notification and looked back to see what I had put, because my mind is ever changing ... and the ratings were pretty close, although i down voted soul kitchen too much ... and i saw that and went huh? ... I guess I was tired.
I love the End, but prefer Five To One, When The Music's Over and a few others :)
