Death in Paradise. BBC murder mystery series from 2011/2. Great fun, lovely setting in Guadeloupe and cracking theme tune. Bit like Hamish Macbeth with sunshine. :D

I have been rewatching one of my favorite shows: King of the Hill.

I find the gentle, slower pace relaxing and I love spending time with the characters. It's so nice to see them doing normal things like outdoor barbeques right now.

That show really chugs along, the cast is really on the ball as an ensemble.

I have the Complete Series set. The packaging is awful. The discs are by no means great looking, they are however very watchable. Be interested in your take on individual seasons once you get them and have watched a few episodes.

F Is For Family on Netflix. It's hilarious. Bill Burr did a great job with the show.

I’m gong to say THE ROCKFORD FILES.
No matter what’s going on, there’s something about it that works for me.
To see a man who is trying hard to stay honest get beaten up, threatened, chased, ripped off and taken for granted (all while keeping a sense of humour about it) makes me feel better as I know no matter what I go through, I doubt if I’d cope as well as he does.
It is a comfort show now - I never saw it the first time around and bought all the US DVD sets. Great acting, humour and plots. I’ll enjoy it for many more years.

Yes, this is our second time through. The last time we went all the way through his later show, Newhart, as well. The actor who plays the Peeper is on that, but he plays a different character.

First three seasons of Family Guy.

Cheers and Frasier do it for me.

You know I bought those blurays last year and still haven't watched them.

They go onto the viewing pile too!

NewsRadio was shot on film but edited on old NTSC video, so it's not going to look good until they go back to the original film elements and do a proper HD remaster....like they did with Star Trek: TNG

Anyhow, my choice is Northern Exposure, if you could find it...

Another vote for The Good Place. Surprisingly funny for a network series.

I really like Rockford Files. It was one of the shows that my parents always insisted on watching growing up, and I dismissed it as an old people’s show. Now, I realize why they liked it so much. James Garner was just made to be a TV show lead. Gretchen Corbett (Beth) was great too.

I'll offer a third vote for The Good Place. It's ridiculously good - great writing and direction, with outstanding performances from every actor.

The first two seasons of GLOW were fantastic. In the third season the wrestling takes a backseat to seemingly unending character development, to the detriment of the plot. There's also some goofy social commentary that's shoehorned in. I have no problem with social commentary (I even agree with a lot of what they were saying) but it was handled really poorly.

    Also good:
Columbo - Yeah it's usually about homicide, but Falk always makes me smile.
Good Eats - New season! I know Alton Brown isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I like him. Probably because I'm a nerd, and his show is really cooking for nerds.
This Old House - I think I'm a sucker for shows with little to no background music. I think they are somewhat meditative. They usually find some cool project houses to visit. My favorite was a lighthouse a half mile out from Boston on an artificial breakwall that some lunatic was turning into an awesome house.

As I never even saw any reruns except for one of the later day TV movies, I watched a few episodes on Amazon last week...it's actually pretty good light entertainment!

Warren Beatty, Michael J. Pollard, and Tuesday Weld pop up in the first season.

Season 1 Ep 15 "The Fist Fighter" actually has some pretty clever surreal moments for 1960... script by John John & Mel Diamond.

I got the NewsRadio disc and watched the first 6 episodes of Season 1.

The video quality of the pilot isn't great BUT it looks much better than what's on MeTV and Crackle. The other 5 better too - not great but completely acceptable.

The first disc ALWAYS starts the pilot when you insert it and it won't go to a DVD menu until you forward to the end of that episode - but I can work around it.

Here is what I have enjoyed...

If you don't mind offensive and at times vulgar, Kenny vs. Spenny and Trailer Park Boys.

Otherwise, a lot of sitcoms fit the bill:

    Everybody Loves Raymond
    How I Met Your Mother
    Frasier
    Three's Company
    Cheers
    Married With Children
    The Office (U.S. and U.K.)
    Rules of Engagement
    The Mindy Project
