I keep hearing that we're in the new golden age of TV but I think I've watched it all.

I've loved Orphan Black, Luther, Hannibal, Sopranos, The Wire, SOA, Justified, The Shield, Breaking Bad, etc.

My current favorites are Wentworth, Animal Kingdom, Goliath, Bosch, Power...

Can you help me out with some suggestions, either current or 2000-today?

Ashur was my favorite character. It's too bad Whitfield died when he did.

Wife and I enjoyed The Americans. Better Call Saul, of course - outstanding storytelling! For a science fiction series, The Expanse has a lot to offer people who like a little politics with their speculative fiction; best thing the embarrasment called "SyFy" has brought us since Battlestar Galactica.

And - oh, yes - Battlestar Galactica! :D

Saw The Americans, love Better Call Saul. Don't like science fiction that much. But based on the cast, I think I'll give The Expanse a look. Thanks.

I use my box to dvr - Westworld, Into The Badlands, Elementary - a few others, then play one episode every night back-to-back

And when I just want to 'chill' - I watch Ice Road Truckers - undemanding and relaxing - ton of on demand episodes out there

Like Peaky Blinders, love GOT. Didn't like The Leftovers, moved to slow for me. I'll try out Westworld. I see both Jimmi Simpson and Ed Harris are in it.

I thought Simpson was brilliant in season one of Hap and Leonard. I would've love to have seen a series built around Soldier and Angel.

In the middle of the night TCM has some classic 30/40's b&w movies - perfect dvr material

Don't really like super hero shows and movies. But Fargo is excellent and American Gods is very good. I like Will Arnett so I will check out Bojack Horseman.

If you would like something lighter, I wholeheartedly recommend two on Amazon Prime: Mozart In The Jungle starring Bernal Gael Garcia and the unbelievably cute Lola Kirke, navigating the survival of an orchestra in NYC...and a '50s-based story about the standup comedy scene in The Village, written by Gilmore Girls' Amy Sherman-Palladino, called The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The scripts just frikkin' crackle!

I expect you've probably seen these, but didn't mention them:
