I don't know. I'm excited because this has never been of vinyl before. It's also a radio show sketch, so sound quality isn't really a big concern here.

The whole RSD concept is an exercise in frustration. Why would anyone expect the organizers to suddenly have a clue about what the consumer goes though on RSD?

    eBay day!

If you stopped buying vinyl. I never did.

I wouldn't call it a must have but you have to admit it does look cool. You be the judge.

It can be for sure. Logical? Not really, but there's a lot of collector's that like having the rare item or the exclusive version. It isn't about sound quality. I have a number of color vinyl editions. Nothing expensive, but manufactured rarities for sure. It's fun, but not for the serious minded.

Are all the same records at every store or will it vary greatly

Criminal is the big dog but really long lines and people start lining up at midnight. Wax n Facts (where I typically go) is right around the corner and much smaller lines. They typically get most things but some items might only be 1-2 quantity while other rare items are 5-10. I typically get 80% of the items I'm looking for so no complaints. You also have Fantasyland and Decatur cd...maybe a few others.

It varies. Participating stores kind of get what they get. The bigger the store, the more selection usually though.

Criminal Records in Little 5, Decatur CD, Wax 'n' Facts, and Wuxtry are a few. I hit Decatur CD. Fun crowd. In the afternoon, it's still packed with beer flowing.

It's not a selling point to me but sometimes it's a creative way to present an lp as long as it is mastered and pressed well, color vinyl is just a bonus (for some). Others think color vinyl is noisier but in my experience, this is not true but I have had bad luck with gold color vinyl.

To me, it just seems like another way of saying, "Hey look, limited edition!". It's sort of like the vinyl version of the Franklin Mint.

    This is certainly true.

Absolutely arrogant and stupid timing. I never get over how inept people in decision making positions are at times. There is no doubt the attendance will be down over that choice of day. I won't and can't go on that day!

It can be for me. Given the choice, I'd usually opt for colored vinyl, because it looks that much cooler spinning on the turntable, and just in general.

What an obvious notion.....I can't believe that hasn't happened. I would buy a box set, like the beautiful set put out for the Eagles recently.

I have generally found colored vinyl sounds like crap, and sound is more important to me. Maybe a coincidence on the titles I have heard.

Record Store Day AND the alleged reveal of 96 "Doctor Who" episodes on the same day?

Talk about an Easter miracle. :)

Yeah, it's nice to look at. My white vinyl US "White Album" sounded pretty lousy, but it was cool to own, at least.

Besides, look how much people pay for picture discs, those are wretched!

On the other hand, the white vinyl German "White Album" sounds great!

In my personal experience, the ratio of good to bad sounding color vinyl isn't really any worse than black vinyl. Picture discs, on the other hand, almost always sound like garbage.

I know! Probably the best version of that album out there, ironically.

    Yes.

Of course, we all know black vinyl is colored as well...

Any other information of the Neil Young Cow Palace LP?

Did a search and this appears to have been un-officially released on cd before....
