Record Store Day Black Friday 2019: Info + Rumors

Record Store Day traditionally announces their list of official RSD Black Friday releases in early October, meaning we're a couple weeks out from the official announce.

I saw this thread on Reddit that says that there will be at least 1 or 2 releases from Tool on RSDBF this year, seems to be the consensus that it would be a box set of some sort.

Also for Madonna fans - this tweet says a Madonna 12" maxi-single of "I Rise" will be released for RSDBF.

Any other rumors about tentative titles this year? Surely there'll be something Bowie-related since he seems to have a new release every RSD-installment.

 

I have no insider information or anything, but id be shocked to not see more individual sets from Woodstock released. The Sly, Janis, Airplane and CCR sets all sold well and were well received across the board. In addition the way the 38 cd set sold out and is now fetching surrealistic prices on ebay must be an indicator that there is still serious interest in these recordings and that these limited style RSD releases seem to be a slam dunk to get some of this material out on the vinyl format, make a few bucks all with little risk of excessive stock kicking around after the fact.

There are still some high profile acts who have not seen individual release vinyl or otherwise, and perhaps some of the lesser known acts could be combined like say a two record set with Melanie on one record and Arlo Guthrie on another kind of thing.

I'm sure one of the 3 extra concerts on the Ramones "It's Alive" 40th anniversary set will be one of the releases.

 

Jeff Tweedy to release another album, called 'Warmest'. Available only to those who present a copy of 'Warm' and 'Warmer' upon which they will receive a fortune cookie sized slip of paper directing them to the copy of 'Warmest' that was randomly placed in the stores $1 bin.

There’s going to be (of course) a Flaming Lips release, which appears to be a live album of them performing “The Soft Bulletin” with an orchestra.

This one is definitely not an RSD title, releasing on 10/25, alongside the black vinyl.

Im excited, i wait which rare pearl exit for this RSD, October is behind the door!!

 

The release date is November 29th, the same as RSDBF this year. From what I've heard, RSD is really toning down the # of box sets they accept each year because (as proven by the leftover box sets you see in each store) that box sets on RSD don't perform well.

 

Wondering what will be the mandatory Doors, Dead and Zappa releases.

 

I’m really hoping for the Bowie S & V release.
