In all fairness, it's really difficult to tell with RSD titles.

According to Norbert Lesh: "Grateful Dead - 30 Dark Star performances from 1972 mixed into a single recording! The Grateful Dead plan a special RSD release that merges all Dark Star performances from 1972 into one very long performance with a marathon jam in the middle. For many Grateful Dead fans, experiencing a near 12hr jam like this will be a dream come true."

Or my former college radio station manager's nightmare. I remember he would alway wearily remind all the "head" DJs at meetings: "....oh, and, please, no more 30-minute versions of "Dark Star." Bwahahah!

12 hours?? That averages out to a 20-LP set. Seems unlikely but it's the Dead so they'll find some way to make it work. ;)

As I begin to think about RSD I look back at my prior RsD purchases and ask how well do I like these? Do I get caught up in the hype and over buy only to look back and ask why did I want this? Maybe a cheap cd is enough. Others are valued and worth the effort. What do I like about those?

I have copies from every RSD and am reviewing and needle dropping some. Might sell others.

I with you. I haven't even opened RSD 2018 Morrison's An American Prayer or Zappa's We're Only in it for the Money. $5 CDs are the better option. The $25 left over could then be spent elsewhere, like at the dispensary!

Agreed - was thinking much the same thing recently. For the stuff that I plan to unwrap and play, this year I want to under-buy.

The one I'd like to see released is one I
have been wishing for for a long time.
"Buckingham Nicks" needs to be on the
    RSD release list!!! My opinion.

There are a lot of RSD releases that have been in heavy rotation since they were released.
This one, beats all others by a country mile though.

One of my "personal fantasy" releases would be of a whole show, or highlights, from the Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers 1997 run at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco.

Maybe in the realm of a highlights 3LP set, followed by a CD box set of the entire twenty-night run.

They are pressing a Pin Ups picture disc. Why picture discs? Why?!

Easy money: free promotion, guaranteed sales, 'vinyls' lovers will adore, stampers already there. Same old thing in same old drag.

Let's face it - how else are they going to resell "Pin Ups"? It's not held in the absolutely highest regard (although, having only bought it recently, it's great fun, full of love and energy).

The World of David Bowie on coloured vinyl is apparently another RSD release according to rumours.

Eh. Picture discs are always a gamble for a store. We'll get them but they generally will sit there, no one buys them, and then the store sells them at way below cost online later on. But a store doesn't know what will sell or not. Too bad most vinyl in nonreturnable for small stores.

I was writing from Parlophone's position, they can shift that risk to retailers and sit back.

Pearl Jam just announced as this year's ambassador. Wonder what they'll be putting out?
