CORROSION OF CONFORMITY Drummer REED MULLIN Dead At 53

 

Too many Metal Musicians dying lately. Get Help if you need it, please.

 

So sad. I met him back in the '80s a few times. Even drove C.O.C. around town before one show and had dinner with them.

RIP. He was a nice guy.

 

Oh no! I had gotten the impression he was struggling with substance abuse in recent years, but it really sucks that he’s gone. Always enjoyed what he brought to C.O.C. Going to listen to Blind now in respect. RIP.

 

Such a bummer, love COC and 53 is too young to go.

 

Man that sucks. I saw him play with C.O.C in 2015, there was something in his playing other C.O.C drummers lacked. His playing was very precise, tight even and I preferred it to the looser style of Jimmy Bower.

It's sad to hear that his demons got the better of him.

 

Very sad news. RIP

 

I do love Bower, I like him as a drummer, I think he’s perfect for Down, but COC is not Down. For COC, I’ll take Mullen.

 

Animosity, to me, is the greatest "crossover" album of them all (their greatest album, for sure.)

Just saw this during my lunch hour... sad news indeed. Currently cranking 13 Angels in tribute. \m/

 

Man I loved his drumming so much, he mixed together punk and metal and Southern rock and made it all swing so beautifully; he was the Ginger Baker of sludge-metal in my books. Yet another sad loss to the drumming world in a month full of them.

Oh, what a sad news. I used to listen to lot of CoC in my youth, Deliverance was on heavy rotation back in the days....RIP Reed

 

Indeed, I hadn't realised he was so young. Terrible news, and a reminder that booze can be the worst drug of all.

 

RIP Reed. Great drummer from a great band. Love COC. What a shame

 

CoC are giants, one has now fallen. Rest in peace Reed

 

Not a good year for drummers.

 

Anybody know if the original (European) vinyl version of 'Blind' is any better sounding than the cd?
