    Hi all,

I've just taken delivery of a new Rega Exact (my old one went to the dealer as a trade in). although I fitted the old one myself without a problem, the bolts supplied with the new Exact aren't long enough for fitting it to a Rega arm (RP6). That can't be right surely?!

Has anyone else had this problem?

    I don't think I'm doing something silly...

It was a seven hour drive back from the dealer so I can't just take it back (long story)...

    Any clues?...

Reach out to the dealer via phone or e-mail. I am sure that they can send you different screws via post.

Surely a packaging issue, they put the wrong bolts ...
I am sure the dealer can send you the right bolts ...

Give the dealer a call and ask him to send the right ones pronto.

does rega make different length cartridge bolts? I would've assumed they're all the same

I would too... I've never known anything like it but they definitely don't fit.

Message sent to my Rega contact...

(Waiting to play my RSD purchases here..!)

My Exact came today. I put it on the RP6 and it’s sounding great. Are you putting the nuts on top/in the grooves?

Yes. Bolts too short to ‘catch the nuts’... Nasty...!

Rega are mystified (and so am I). But I've bought a set of mixed length cart bolts so I'm sure I can sort it out now...

Did you send them pictures ?

  12. I had the same issue many years ago. Luckily the dealer was only a mile away and fitted the Cart for me as an apology. Also a Rega Exact

Can't be bothered. Rega think it's just me. I know it's not (I'm not new to this game...) Sorted now

I know it’s a maligned term, but PRAT is real. I remember adding a Brio-R to the mix and getting what PRAT is. The RP6/Exact combo is doing that too. Bass and drums are bouncy and start/stop much quicker than the RP6/103 combo (which I realize isn’t an ideal match)
