Looks like Stone gave an interview recently saying they're currently working on stuff but not to expect anything before 2024. Also saw something else saying that Andrew Watt guy is involved.
Bob Dylan - Bootleg Series Vol 17: Fragments Neil Young - Archives III Plus, any other Neil Young releases that he wants to give me.
Didn't these just get announced this year? If so, you are probably looking at 2098 based on past MOFI release announcements.
Yes Juno just released it recently. It is copyright gap, but thats ok. Its an important part of the big puzzle of Stones live shows.
I second the previous motion for the Wheels Of Fire SDE. And...hoping against hope that the legal dust will settle and we'll finally get the Jimi Hendrix Electric Lady box set. Sooner rather than later for both, please. Been patiently waiting.
The long-in-the-oven box sets from The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band and The Teardrop Explodes would be nice. As would something new from Autechre, Manic Street Preachers, Anna Calvi and Stereolab. Baby Queen's debut album proper is due as well.
I find I give all new releases 3-4 listens and then they go on the shelf. Nothing seems to have any staying power for me. Pre 2000, I’d listen to new releases over and over and over and would really get to know records intimately. I love music as much as ever but the above does get me a little depressed. I suppose I like the comfort of listening to records I know really well, they take you back… Still… Saw The Cure a few weeks ago and the new songs sounded great. I’m seeing Depeche Mode in June so I’ll be interested in hearing that, although nothing after Songs of F&D has done much for me.. Pearl Jam are recording a new record. I’ll always be interested in whatever U2 do, even through they’re last few have been terrible, in my opinion.
For a couple of years I have been hearing we will get a release of live material from the mid 60's Bill Monroe and his Bluegrass Boys. This is the band that included Peter Rowan and Richard Greene. I turn 60 on January 3. If it is released at any point, it would be a great birthday gift.
1) can you devolve more info? 2) is that a typo? 20CDs? 3) any idea of cost? 4) assume recordings with Dave Swarbrick included? Edit: when is is coming? Sounds incredible.
Peter Gabriel I/O U2 - Songs of Surrender (intrigued, not real excited) The Cure - Songs of a Lost World Reissues Bowie "Era" Box Set #6 (maybe?) The Beatles - Rubber Soul (maybe) The Who - Who's Next (SDE box)
Even though I've bought less box sets in the last few years, I really am looking forward to Bob Dylan's Fragments (though I'll get the download) and Neil's Archives III (though it may be the last Archives Volume I'll get). Two other box sets I want to buy are Mind Games and Walls and Bridges, but who knows what's going on with the Lennon releases.
I have GRRR Live on preorder. With some Universal bonus points I got a pretty good deal on it. I'm not a huge Stones fan but I do enjoy most of their concert DVDs.
Oh, there are rumours the next box set Cherry Red are doing for The Fall is [2010s], pulling together their final years. Some brilliant outtakes leaked about 6-7 years ago so this could be excellent. A bit of justice for their final incarnation would be perfect.
Are they doing a new album or are reissues due? Im wanting the debut on vinyl for a reasonable price and last call for vitriol
