With the right timing you could have had them for that much, especially if you hunted the used market.

I'm still looking for DB as might CC card was declined twice because of some security code.

So it's not about where, it's about when. See, I knew that. Look at you, making it sound all easy. ;)

Pompeii would be upgrade in audio, upgrade in video, speed corrected and additional B&W footage from the era.

Complaining about island surround not being lossless, no Delicate blu-ray or the prices of the immersion sets are valid complaints. Gilmour failing to make 5 of his studio albums(plus 3-4 live projects?) in affordable 5.1 sound is not.

Yes - though I would like higher resolution Gilmour solo, what is available has both been reasonably priced and easily available.

And I particularly like the Gilmour - In Concert DVD from 2002 which has a 24 bit PCM track (it's a pity more have not used the fact that 20 and 24 bit two-channel PCM is part of the DVD standard).

    I agree.

A good blu ray of Pompeii is an instant buy for me, and I'm sure many others. At times I think the music industry / artists don't want our money.

IIRC, Pink Floyd don't have control over the "Pompeii" film. I guess Maben is asking too much and, since they basically don't need money and the film is currently available anyway, they just let it go.

Well, at least the majority of it will be available on the new box set but I also find it puzzling that there hasn't been a stand alone Blu-Ray release of the restored film yet.

So is a bluray release of this going to happen? Such a shame if not.

A release to tie in with the Gilmour concert would be most welcome.

It's going to be part of that massive "Early Years" box set that's been talked about in another thread. And when the individual modules of that box are sold separately it'll be there too.

It's not the complete film though as originally intended. Seamus is missing and Echoes is complete rather than in 2 parts.
The Whole film will be getting a standalone blu-ray release at some point.

Thanks! I didn't know that - I just assumed that it'd be a blu-ray of the restored film.

    Sadly not.
It seems a bit of a pointless addition to the box set to be honest.
All of the film minus one short song?
Should've been the whole thing or save it all for a standalone release.

Yeah, but they put the two pieces of Echoes back together for the Floyd box. That makes it worth it to include on that box alone. The original film will forever have that song split in two.

    That's a good point.
The complete "Echoes" is a worthy addition to the box, I just find it a shame that you get almost all of the film, but not quite.

That's because it was performed in 2 seperate parts. The pompeii version was never meant to be joined together. The early years box will simply play the 2 parts back to back.

Uhhhh, no. Echoes was not played in two pieces at Pompeii.
