Rhino Handmade releasing Jan & Dean "lost album" - Carnival of Sound*

Well, it took 4 months, but they finally sent me the proper album, which I will play tonight ...and they never asked me to return the Grateful Dead Road Trips CD that was sent to me in error!

 

So do I open it and play it, sell it, or what?

 

So, who got the order wrong, you or Rhino?

The vinyl has Side 1 in this order:

1. Girl, You’re Blowing My Mind
2. In The Still Of The Night
3. Stay
4. Louisiana Man
5. Mulholland

Side 2 is in this order:

1. Fan Tan
2. Carnival Of Sound
3. Hawaii
4. Laurel & Hardy
5. I Know My Mind

I really like the running order of side 2; "I Know My Mind" is a terrific closer.

I'm really enjoying this album, it's one of those albums that gets better the more you listen.

Yeah, that's odd, wide stereo for "Hawaii". I didn't even know it was in stereo until I read this thread, as I summed the album to mono the first time I listened to it.

 

Looks like these Handmade boys have dumped Jan & Dean.

I've gotten a LOT of plays out of this release.

 

I pulled this record out to play this morning, and noticed that I'd never imported the CD to my iTunes. However, when I tried, my disc drive immediately rejected the disc. Anyone else have this problem?

 

I put it on itunes 09/13/11 and it worked just fine.

 

Ugg, missed the vinyl on this.

 

I didn't know if it had some copy protection or something that might be making my drive spit it out. I get a "CD" icon for about a second, then it ejects.
