Actually a few good ones this time if mastering is very good. That Curtis Live is a go for me if its mastered well. Also the S/T. Thunders also. Hey at least no 3 Talking Heads and two Devo titles.
Once again, though, at least half of these are titles they’ve already done before, some of them more than once. While I don’t always mind that, I wish they would focus more on albums they haven’t re-issued on vinyl yet.
Rhino annoyingly never releases mastering details and nobody knows until the dead wax is seen. Hoping some of these are recuts
More importantly, when is a version going to be reissued on vinyl that has the “heavenly wine and roses” version of “Sweet Jane” included?
Drastic Plastic did a great reissue of the Johnny Thunders cut by Kevin Gray. Pretty sure it’s still cheap
The Bob Weir 50th anniversary release is also getting a digital version that includes a currently recorded live performance of the songs with his Wolf Bros. band. I've been hit or miss with his live combos, but Wolf is one of the best he's put together.
As usual, at first I see nothing of interest. As I look closer Gerry Rafferty, Bob Weir, Johnny Thunders and possibly Curtis/Live.
I do the same thing just about every year. Nothing looks too exciting at first glance, but I'll end up with a handful of these titles in the end.
Dare I hope this is not just the 7th reissue of the same Nick Davis remix/Miles Showell remaster of Selling England By The Pound that we’ve been getting thrown at us the last 15 years?! This album deserves more for its 50th!
It deserves a 2LP to spread its wings. Skipping it because one thing modern cutting can't do is make an overstuffed LP side unless it's spoken word. I bought other titles from this run.
I could be interested in the Fragile but my current copy (may be first press) is pretty good to my ears
If anybody picks these up, the matrix info would be appreciated. Looks like the first batch is released tomorrow, and I (and I assume many others) would love to know who cut these.
