Thanks for the info! I assume it still sounds really good / is worth adding to my collection?

In many instances, Plangent-processed tapes have sounded better than their AAA counterparts. Plangent processes isn't some nebulous shakti-stone audiophile method, it has proven benefits.
Besides, multiple people in this very thread have said that the music and sound of this GD box were great. How many testimonies do you need ?

I didn't know there was a different mix of this album. Has it been available elsewhere? I have an original Elektra and found it had some bad phasing issues. The Rhino cd is my general go-to but I'd be willing to buy this if some of these things have been corrected. Plus, the Rhino cd always seemed a bit loud but those mixes are pretty hot too.

One of the best sounding sets I own. Only probably was the near nonexistent lead in groove on the records. I’m sure the new set sounds just as good!

To my knowledge, only a handful of these mixes have been released. Elektra apparently slapped a bunch of reverb and post production goop on the master due to the album sounding kinda rough/lo-fi-ish in an attempt to smooth it out.

Does the new Dead set have that near non existent lead in groove too? It’s ridiculous.

Great. I wouldn’t think they’d make that same mistake twice.

I picked up the JA Thirty Seconds over Winterland and Arlo Guthrie’s Best-of. Both looked good. Will play them over the weekend.

    Ordered!

I have an original pressing, but can't resist an alternate mix (cut by CB!) for $20.

This album is every bit as good as the first three Love albums, and is a logical follow-up to "Forever Changes."

Just jumped in the thread and realized you posted that Four Sail is a CB cut. I picked it up tonight before reading the thread closely and got a pleasant surprise. Thanks for the heads up, even though I didn't see the heads up!!

Might have to take a chance on that. My original sounds great too.

I have an original that I think is an RL cut so no need to worry about replacing this.

Moondance appears to be the same KG cut that we've had for a long time, but on orange wax.

Long John Silver is Ian, actually sounds quite a bit better than my original. Less muddy, a bit more open.

Thirty Seconds looks like another Ian cut, but I haven't played it yet. The color is pretty, though!

Agreed, I'm loving this. Albeit I don't have an original to compare to.

I ordered these the day they were announced but the warehouse complications mean they haven't even been shipped yet. Did anyone get hold of the CSN couch album? How's it sound/look?

Maybe just to hear the Arthur Lee mix of the LP? Either way my original is still great.

I’m actually kinda growing to prefer the Lee mixes as opposed to the original press. Might wanna rethink your position.

We got some copies in at my shop. I didn’t open one, but the jacket is some serious business. Incredibly heavy tip-on, weighs a ton and looks great.

Considering it's an entirely different mix, the deadwax in your original really means nada in this case.

Moondance has a high quality tip on gatefold jacket. Made in Europe.

Kevin indeed cut the record, back at ATM.
