Haven't seen a thread about this, but was sad to discover today that Linda Manz passed away on Friday 14th August from lung cancer. She was 58.

I was a fan of Linda despite her acting career being so short lived. She was unforgettable in Days of Heaven, The Wanderers and Dennis Hopper's Out Of The Blue.

    RIP.

Her performance and narration in Days Of Heaven have stayed with me for many years. Indelible.
    Sorry to hear this...

Nice post Steve. In addition to her magnetic performances in those films she also has a bizarre (no surprise there) appearance in the movie Gummo doing a fascinating dance sequence.

I recall reading an interesting article that was in I believe People magazine online, though I cant find it now. It was from the early/mid 80's and described her attempts to make a career out of acting. Sadly you can tell it wasn't going to work out for her even then.

I liked her severe, street tough Tatum O'Neil-esque persona.

    Sorry to find this out...

It's interesting that she didn’t have many acting credits at all, and stopped in 1997.

I saw Days of Heaven and Out of The Blue when first released, and I thought her voice sounded like Patti Smith.

    RIP
