Any thoughts on the European (?) CD of the Spector/Ike and Tina Turner River Deep Mountain High album. This appears to be the only version of this album available at this point. How does it compare to previous releases (I've heard the MoFi version bantered about here in the past). Mono or stereo? Worth the money?

    Well,

The only value I might be able to offer is as an owner of the A&M Domestic CD. It is in stereo and can best be described as the "Wall of Hiss". I usually like hiss, but in this case the hiss actually appears to be louder than the music...

I have a CD on the Alvorado label in Spain with this album and "Love Is All We Have To Give" album by Sonny Charles & The Checkmates, Ltd. which is in stereo and cleaned up so that the hiss won't overpower the music. TCL Imports is supposedly be able to order this CD. If you prefer to use "secure" online shopping carts go to www.songsearch.net or www.gemm.com but if you would like to order direct from TCL Imports go here for information: http://www.tclimports.com/orderinf2.html for their e-mail form or toll-free number and tell them to order the CD with the 575025 catalog number.

I'm on cloud 9. I just purchased the original English import lp for $20. Wow.
    Gorgeous cover and lp.

Rich, don't waste your money on the MFSL. I owned it and got rid of it. It was the worst sounding MFSL, even worse than the sound board Woodstock cd's, IMHO.
