“Road” Paul McCartney track from “New”

This track sorta stands out for me amongst the other tracks on “New”. It’s a little hypnotic and actually sounds more like it would have fit better on “Electric Arguments”, than “New”. Anyone else here love this track?

 

Yes, it's a good album track off New, which is one of the best solo LPs Paul McCartney ever made.

 

Great song from a great album. One of my favorite closing tracks on a McCartney album. (Unless we want to count the hidden "Scared" as the real closer.)

 

It does stand out, even on such a diverse album and I personally love the song, it is very atmospheric and almost anthemic in some ways. As you say, it does sound very much like a continuance of 'Electric Arguments', which is a great thing IMO. I also think it has some of the same qualities of 'House Of Wax', and I wish Paul had performed it live.

 

I put it just outside my top 10 Macca favourites, though I called it "Heading for the Light"!!

I like the song. In fact I like a good part of the songs on NEW...what i can't stand is the hyper-electronic production.

 

I love the vocal effects on New. They're very...haunting, I would say.

McCartney is my favorite artist, but to be honest it's been a while since I listened to NEW and I forgot what a great track this is.
