Roxy Music, Devo, Kraftwerk. I’ll even toss in Todd if there’s a free slot. But I’d be OK with making them all wait another year to clear a lane for John Prine.

They finally came to their senses and at least deemed Todd Rundgren worthy of being put on the ballot. If the Rock Hall wants to win even a miniscule of my respect for them, they need to go all the way and induct Todd and The Zombies into the Hall.

  3. Indeed and that's the difference between their million seller and their previous albums.

I’ve been pushing Def Leppard for a couple years. Regardless of influence, some acts just deserve to be in....those guys sold a lot of records and made a lot of people happy......seems just.
Now I’m starting my push for Weezer.

Considering he helped write the songs, if anything Phil is more of a featured player; all I really did was lay down solos.

he co-wrote 4 tunes, not sure how much he contributed. I guess enough to warrant a credit.

Anyone know of a site with the final fan ballot rankings for the last 4-5 years?

He was sacked during the making of the album. He'd already recorded rhythm guitar on all the tracks on the album and co-written 4 of the tracks.

Phil Collen added rhythm guitar parts to 5 tracks and played some solos.

So, basically, Willis was a member of the band until he wasn't any longer but he wasn't a 'featured player'.

If Janet/Def Leppard/Kraftwerk perform in April, will they lip sync?

Do Rage/MC5/Radiohead/Kraftwerk even have any interest in accepting/clearing publishing/footage/showing up?

Except for Marr and the bass player, I don't think any 2 Smiths members can even be in the same room together. Can you imagine the speech meltdowns?

Where are Janet/Nicks still filling arenas by themselves? The FYF Festival in LA this summer with Janet headlining was cancelled due to horrendous ticket sales.

Guided by Voices first ballot inductees!!

Small Faces/Abba and to a lesser extent Queen/Bee Gees. Was Bill Haley's late career resurgence only overseas?

I can really only see the MC5 being worthy from this list. The rest are lacking in several of the criteria. MC5 may be lacking in musicianship but influence and impact are through the roof.

Wow..........mocking John Prine and suggesting the other five?..........Prine should've been in for songwriting a long time ago. Not withstanding great solo albums and still going strong today.

Jeebus, to each his own I guess. Oh, and I love Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. Ever heard of Iron Maiden or Judas Priest? Not in. Dave Matthews, but not Tull or ELP?..........and you want Chaka Kahn but no War, Ohio Players, Spinners or Stylistics? Heck, Kool and the Gang's Wild and Peaceful is better than anything they ever put out.

Just my worthless opinion on a worthless organization...........

Their musicianship if fine for what they played. Hope this is finally their year to get it.

I’m gonna go crank “Sister Anne” right now.

Point is the same though maybe I misread. I didn't see the funny icon or "G" beside the comment. They all should be in instead of that band and her.

Avalon has the staying power mostly from its' timeless soundscape. I love that album, but Roxy should get inducted based on their first five albums. Eno would tag along and Jobson too.

Bryan Ferry should use his suaveness and swag to convince the committee to vote his band in

But- great to see Roxy Music named.. now put them in.

Roxy got nominated by the committee. The problem is that there are nearly a thousand voting members to seduce to get actually inducted, and as suave as Bryan is, that is Casanova level of seduction.

Like Kraftwerk are ever going to attend this, let alone play at it. I imagine they take being nominated as a personal insult.

Never met anyone in the UK who was a Chicago fan. They never came up in in any conversation except in the context of their '80s AOR being incredibly lightweight. Of the people that know about that, must be a very small fraction of people who know who Terry Kath was. In fact you and I are probably freaks, in that respect.:)
