You can’t blame Waters for chancing his arm and you can’t blame Gilmour for the rebuff.

Too much water under the bridge, too many bridges burned.

I just wish the bridges had fallen in on The Endless River, which should not have been marketed as official Pink Floyd.

Two solo albums, The Endless River and several tours and aasociated DVDs

More new rock material produced than Waters produced in that span.

As amazing as it would be, that ship has long sailed away. Gilmour just wants to do his own thing at his leisure in his old age and there is nothing wrong with that.

I think everybody here loves uncle Roger, regardless of his massive ego.
    Well, I certainly do.

    We know, Roger. We know.

Roger totally forgot to mime to the backing track there..missed his cue at around 40 seconds in that clip while saluting the crowd. Oops!

I don't think things were all that civilized even at Live 8. I don't think David Gilmour so much as looked over in Roger Waters' direction during their entire set. Roger looked thrilled to be there. David not so much. I think David just stuck it out for the greater cause.

I love Roger (and I’ve supported this crap many times) but he certainly has his hypocritical side. Perhaps Dave said no because he wants to avoid the “are you going to sing live” question.

To be fair, Dave never looks happy while playing.

Very true. The lead up to the Live 8 show was awkward for David Gilmour who hadn't talked to Roger in person for years and the rehearsals were contentious between the two.

Being on stage together was relatively civilized compared to the prior situation. That's all I was pointing out. Along with the fact that we now seem to be back to the worst of times between them.

He doesn't sound too bad here.

The song starts about 33min in.

EDIT: When I started typing this, the most recent posts were about Rog not being able to sing any more.

Dave sold so many of his guitars that he no longer owns enough to go on tour.

Grandpa used to say "Pink Floyd, without Waters' politically aware writing, would have just become The Doobie Brothers... and not the cool Doobie brothers, but the Michael McDonald Doobie Brothers"

They seemed particularly amicable at the Palestinian Charity gig that Dave invited Roger to. Clearly they were on pretty good terms at that point and they seemed to be on similar terms when Dave performed The Wall show with Roger.

To be fair to Roger, even in this most recent interview he speaks warmly of David:

I’m sure you were happy to hear that when David Gilmour sold his guitars this year, he donated the money to fighting climate change.
Oh, bless him. I think that’s a good thing. Good for him.

Or, Dave may just think of “pop group” as short for popular group, and Pink Floyd were (are) pretty popular.

No, really, "pop group" is the standard shorthand for non-classical, non-jazz music. Pick up your UK copy of any Floyd album (or virtually any rock album), and on the back it'll say, "File under POPULAR: Pop Groups."

I always sided with Roger in the Floyd "divorce," and yet he bothers me in so many ways.

But this is hilarious: he left Floyd because he "wanted to get on with (his) work," really?

Let's see: Gilmour, not exactly a workhouse, but five studio albums during that time; Waters, a whopping two studio albums and a random smattering of a few mostly awful singles. Yes, he did so much "work" from after wrapping the Amused To Death tour - oh, right, there was no tour - to finally making another album in 2017 (which I actually love). I mean, the first big Waters tour in the early 2000s was great because we finally got to hear some ATD songs live, but then he just beat the dead Floyd horse, the Dark Side tour, the Wall tour, on and on...
