Nope - there were phony tickets in the pre-Internet days.

Now I fully agree it's waaay easier to rip off people now due to print-at-home tickets, but scalpers always generated fake tickets...

I am going to wait until close to the date of the first Chicago date. Hoping those lucky dips will pop up. Some of these prices are ridiculous, and I'm a huge Stones fan. I would swipe them up back in the day, but I'm more cautious now.

Good call, ridiculous to be buying now. I'd probably focus on the second show (June 25) since it was the announced after the June 21 show. On the other hand, that final show might experience some extra demand based on it being the U.S. tour closer. And we all know what that could mean (or not).

The second show is a no-go due to work. I will be going to the first show, waiting for drops from secondary sellers and maybe some lucky dips.

If your schedule changes, jump on it. Second shows are always better, esp. in Chicago.

Tried to book a $175 ticket... came out $246.90 with fees. What the heck?! Passed on it.

I love this band, but I refuse to pay $250 to see them in 2019.

Sort of unusual for Mick to be constantly advertising his writing/recording like this, no?

Wonder if he is trying to break the stalemate with Keith somehow, or prove that he's still got some creativity to offer...I guess he wouldn't be the first celebrity to overshare on social media. :)

I was ready to pay $175, but not the additional 70 bucks to Ticketmaster.

$70 for a $175 ticket does seem extreme. I was pissed that they added $100 to my $500 ticket, but $70 for $175 is even worse as a percentage of ticket price!

What are those extra fees for anyway? Are they associated with the vendor or the venue? I wouldn't mind if I was paying towards heightened security, for example.

He’s trying to prove to us (or maybe even himself) that he has musical chops and it’s not the other three (plus others) who just do the tunes.

It would be nice to know, though it wouldn't make you feel any better. There's probably a credit card transaction fee - which I know is broken out in foreign jurisdictions - local taxes, fees, regulatory requirements, venue fees. It's a bit like when you rent a car, and the sticker price doubles when you go to the checkout. This is not Sir Mick's fault, by the way.

In many instances, those "fees" are simply additional revenue streams for the promoter and artist.

I'm thinking venue establishes a lot of them. The $100 fee for my $500 Stones ticket in Maryland would've been a $65ish fee for a $500 Stones ticket in NJ.

Same band, same promoter, radically different price.

I also paid literally twice the fees for my "Lucky Dip" Philly tickets than I did for the same in NJ...

I'd pay to hear "Pretty Beat Up" live, missing those serious guitar jams I guess.

A Rolling Stones gig for Toronto looks like a good bet.....but where? The Blue Jays are
at home that Saturday so that rules out the dome. That leaves Downsview Park or the
…….El Mocambo Tavern, which is re-opening this spring. I would bet on a pay-per-view
    telecast as well.
