Hoping for Cleveland, but with a Detroit show looming, it seems less likely.

Alright, y'all, should I try to go to a show? I haven't seen the Stones. Is it worth it? Are they still good?

For not having seen them alone, yes, but they do still put on a great show.

You won’t regret it. Only if you don’t go before it’s too late.

Are they as good as Paul's shows? :) 'Cause I've seen that man 9 times and it still doesn't get old.

Yes, but be prepared to get yelled at if you dare stand up during the show. This has happened to me every time I've seen them. The audience is older (or acts older) than the band! Never experienced people sitting down at a rock concert before until I saw the Stones.

Oh man, that's lame! I love dancing during shows ... it's the best part!

I did go to a McCartney show where some old lady was yelling at anyone who stood up. My husband finally turned around to her and said, "This is a rock show, not a night at the symphony!"

Both artists shows natural signs of ageing.
Energy-wise and in terms of ‘putting on a great show’, they are equal.

Paul goes longer and (subjectively) has stronger material to work with, but The Stones are just as energetic and throw surprises in their shows more often. Call it a draw.

Cool, thanks. I'll try to make it to a show. For me, I don't think anything can match the sheer insanity of seeing Paul walk out on stage and thinking, 'holy crap that's Paul McCartney,' but it sounds like a fun time.

Spend some time on YouTube watching performances from 2019 and see what you think.

Well if Pittsburgh and Detroit are both getting a show, then there's no way Cleveland is getting one. Maybe I'll attempt the Pittsburgh show. Was hoping to take my folks, but an out of town show makes that prospect much less likely.

There's something else entirely going on at a Stones show--especially these days. While the novelty of being in the same room as a Beatle certainly is definitely a high, the dynamic at a Stones show is a whole different thing all together. Paul fronts a well oiled band that are considerably younger which allows him to do a lot of things the Stones can't.

The Stones, are still that original band from nearly 60 years ago. The band has gone through so many ups and down that it's a small miracle that they're still out there getting it done and I believe deep down they have recently realized this as well. Brain hemorrhages (Keith), cancer battles (Charlie and Ronnie) and heart procedures (Mick) all within the last 15 years-- the universe has given them PLENTY of chances to stop---yet they have fought tooth and nail to get to that stage each night (last year they played in Miami which was practically evacuated because of a hurricane!). You see and hear it in the playing today; they're supporting each other and playing more intimately than ever before. They are still a team and it's absolutely fascinating to watch.

That may be just me tho.

On top of all that---Mick out there on stage swaying, strutting, pointing, smirking, taunting the crowd and singing his lungs out--is simply stunning,

I think this is cool. In a social media age when they could do this all through Twitter, they are putting boots on the ground.

Sweet! Highly unusual for a band to play Detroit, Pittsburgh and Cleveland, but I like it!
