    No Jungleland? No Badge? Nothing from Tommy or Quadraphenia? I understand that Springsteen, Cream and the Who had fair representation on the list, but these strike me as fairly notable and influential pieces.

    They have a 500 greatest album list, too. That's another issue where opinions vary. I remember when VH1 put that kind of list together at 100. Tina Turner's Private Dancer made the list but no Music From the Big Pink or The Band s/t.

    so, why are there so little ccr songs in the top of this list?
    IMHO their songs are the bleuprint of a good rock song.

    Wow, you're right! They're nutz! :crazy: On the plus side though, at least they didn't list Madonna's version. :hurl:

    I too was amazed - but pleased - that it was ranked as high as it did. It is obsure in North America but it was a big hit overseas. It is probably regarded as the Kinks' finest song.
