    Ah! Ouch!! :D

Oh well, you know the old adage: in for a penny, in for a pound. What's another $30+ CD in the great scheme of things? You can't take it with you! Give it to Mick Jagger and let him figure out what to do with all your hard-earned cash!!

The highest average DR for ANY release of Goats Head Soup is 11, which is only 1 point higher than 10.

Yup, it was the only LP in my life that i literally threw out the window.
Couldn't bring myself to purchasing their music for years and years. That was in 1974.

Yeah, I could have chosen my words better. I’ve heard that stage of the song on bootlegs, I think, but they did a new mix for the set.

I look at a album like Tattoo You like Living In The Past.
The material on LITP is issued on the albums/deluxe boxsets where those tracks were recorded, the Stones should be the same with their outtakes and B-sides.
I don't know if the Stones are going to do 50th anniversary boxsets of their albums starting with Sticky Fingers but a disc of outtakes, B-sides and alternate mixes and alternate takes would be sweet. Why dump them all on a deluxe set for Tattoo You.

Scary figures! In my book B&B is the best of the 4, with IORR 2nd and Tattoo You 3rd. Emotional Rescue (which I actually like and as with all Stones albums upto Tattoo collect the relevant boots) is a distant 4th!

Thanks to all the folk posting these great 70s Stones photos. There should be more Stones photo books without an essay on the meaning of it all just details of when and where the photos were taken. Recording studio shots are always great to see.

    Here is one version
The Rolling Stones - Goats Head Soup

There is a 2011 sacd (not hybrid) which was done in a jewel case in 2014. The one above and the Platinum are standard cds with the flat transfer. 4 flat transfers of GHS on cd/sacd from Japan. All are great in my opinion. Below the first one an sacd.

A quick question as I get confused re Star Star. Is the version of this song on the 2009 cd the same as the original USA vinyl GHS?

I buy all the Stones albums from SF to Tattoo You when they are rereleased on cd! Nuts I know. I kept all my CBS era cds but have not played them in years.

Odd choice. My least fav Stones pre-Undercover. I suppose they could release a shorter version of Angie which would make it less annoying.

Well there were promotional tins of Goats Head Soup made up in 1973 and a dozen years later Bill Wyman declared he still had an unopened one!

Off topic for a second but you forgot Paul Rogers voice as another that has stood the test and stresses of time.

Never heard it disputed, i would be saddened and a little surprised to hear he had nothing to do with it if issued.
Mick Taylor wrote the forward to the 1997 book "It's Only Rock 'n' Roll The Ultimate Guide To The Rolling Stones" (Karnbach & Bernson) in which he begins by stating it is a factual and historical book of the Stones musical endeavours.
Seperately is listed as a Jagger/Richards/Taylor composition.

It was one of their best selling albums due to the presence of 2 top 20 singles in the U.S in Angie (#1) and Heartbreaker (#15). It is certified as 4 x platinum by RIAA.
