A friend of mine (fellow Beach Boys fanatic) first saw the Stones in San Diego in '69, and that was his first date with his now wife!
Those stories are great, I once met an Irish man that saw Hendrix on Jimi's 25th birthday in Northern Island 27/11/67 on a first date with his wife to be. N.b. He sold me the program and ticket which I foolishly traded!
I just ripped the audio from the Blu-ray and realised that it is not Dolby Atmos as advertised as there are no additional channels for ceiling speakers (e.g. 5.1.2, 7.1.2, 5.1.4, 7.1.4 or 9.1.2) available. It's just a "traditional" 7.1 audio track, the additional 2 channels are rear surround channels, see 7.1 surround sound - Wikipedia . Furthermore, the additional channels barely contain any audible information, so it's basically just a 5.1 mix. As others already pointed out, at least the surround mix is not as compressed as the stereo remix. Example: Dancing with Mr. D. a) Front left/right & center channels b) left/right surround & rear surround channels
Yes possibly - there is a sort of legendary status that no doubt the early boots added to. Personally I love the official reissue - it sounds fine although I still play the boots. I really do wish the Stones would put out more live material from the 1970s.
Day 2 of cranking the **** out of my (4Lp) Brussels and... man, I ****ing LOVE it. I know a lot of you up in here have lived with this recording for a long time and have heard countless other '73 shows - respect - but, for those of us who are not quite as acquainted? To hear this thing on a quality vinyl pressing is.... yeah, really, really good. Easily one of the best things to come out of our year 2020, lol.
I had not thought of this, but thanks for the inspiration. Along with Goats Head Soup it will be on new menu.
I meant it has the tour poster on the cover, not that it included a poster. Met Keith about 15 times 1987 - 1994 at a place of employment. I was warned never to ask for autographs, etc. Thankfully I ignored that rule every time I came into contact with any heavyweights. But the signed bootlegs were a brazen thing to do under any circumstances. But I felt he'd got to know me a bit over time and knew I owned all the albums, and this was an extension of the collection. Why not? I never passed on a chance to chit-chat and let him know this was something special for me not to be forgotten. I also left him alone sometimes and did not chat when I was around him, trying to be cool about it. Oh you mean another of the several boots Keith signed, well... ok. Hope ya'll like these, I treasure them as part of the Stones collection. Maybe they don't get shown off enough.

There is no way I can go through the whole thread )) sorry guys. )) But do I understand correctly 2LP set is a new mix (+outtakes), and not just a remaster?
Brown Sugar (E. Clapton slide guitar vers.) This is the clear vinyl pressing. It was also issued on red vinyl at the time, I think around 1977 or '78.
MAMA!!! Really cool stuff there man[/QUOTE] Looking at my collection at the time, I tried to find boots (for Keith to sign) that were aesthetically pleasing and had historical (recording quality) importance. These two looked cool I thought at the time. And CS Blues on 12" with RS label was pretty wild and historical I thought. Not many signed copies of this one around.
