He does. And once again, he’s been cropped out of all the artwork for the release. Though, he is listed as having played bass in the credits. Are they that petty about him leaving the band and not really showing remorse? Is there another personal issue between him and Mick? I’m pretty sure that Keith takes no interest in what archive releases come out, much less the artwork for them.
Keith is on record as saying that he didn't believe anybody left this band alive. So what do you think?
Once again, we don't really know if the absence of Bill Wyman pics on recent releases is due to him asking not to use his image. Why do you always think that's Mick's or Keith's fault?
I agree, I don’t understand why people keep going on about this like Mick and Keith have some kind of problem with Bill when in reality no one knows the reason why.
I believe he has already auctioned off all the Stones related memorabilia he had acquired over the years, which was a whole bunch.
That’s great news Also says: Mastered By – Stephen Marcussen, Stewart Whitmore Is that the same as the CDs? Wondering if this was mastered for vinyl or the exact same CD mastering
Love to know this too. Grundman and Marcussen = mixed signals, lol. Keen to know more about the LP set before dropping that sort of money. Side bar - really digging the concert itself via streaming. Truly great rock n roll; my laws, they surely don't make it like that anymore!
Thanks. So while not definitive that this wasn’t mastered for vinyl, I think safe to assume Bernie used the same exact files to cut this
Can't guarantee it but I would bet Bernie cut the vinyl from the hi-res files assuming the LP mastering info posted above is accurate
Well we can safely assume he cut the record from hi-res files, but I was trying to figure out if the vinyl had a different mastering than the CDs but it appears not
On pg. 58 of this thread rjstauber did a vinyl rip and posted these DR values: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Analyzed: The Rolling Stones / El Mocambo 1977 (Vinyl) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DR Peak RMS Duration Track -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DR12 -3.26 dB -16.75 dB 3:37 01-Honky Tonk Women DR11 -2.86 dB -15.04 dB 4:07 02-All Down The Line DR12 -2.84 dB -15.67 dB 4:33 03-Hand Of Fate DR10 -3.28 dB -15.04 dB 3:07 04-Route 66 DR11 -2.82 dB -16.64 dB 4:58 05-Fool To Cry DR11 -2.92 dB -15.60 dB 4:34 06-Crazy Mama DR12 -2.71 dB -16.28 dB 6:09 07-Mannish Boy DR12 -2.35 dB -15.95 dB 4:29 08-Crackin' Up DR11 -3.24 dB -15.65 dB 4:53 09-Dance Little Sister DR12 -3.11 dB -16.71 dB 3:58 10-Around And Around DR11 -3.37 dB -15.99 dB 4:50 11-Tumbling Dice DR12 -2.79 dB -16.25 dB 5:45 12-Hot Stuff DR11 -3.08 dB -15.23 dB 4:19 13-Star Star DR10 -2.47 dB -14.45 dB 3:49 14-Let's Spend The Night Together DR11 -3.49 dB -17.09 dB 5:23 15-Worried Life Blues DR12 -3.68 dB -17.54 dB 5:02 16-Little Red Rooster DR11 -2.83 dB -14.78 dB 4:54 17-It's Only Rock 'N' Roll (But I Like It) DR11 -2.73 dB -14.98 dB 2:13 18-Rip This Joint DR11 -3.04 dB -14.70 dB 3:25 19-Brown Sugar DR11 -3.24 dB -15.27 dB 5:05 20-Jumpin' Jack Flash DR12 -3.29 dB -17.10 dB 4:42 21-Melody DR11 -2.85 dB -15.63 dB 5:13 22-Luxury DR11 -2.67 dB -15.67 dB 8:02 23-Worried About You -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Official DR value: DR11
Without getting into a bickering match about DR values, if the hi-res has a DR8 and a vinyl rip has a DR11 does that mean for sure they had different mastering?
DR is a shaky proposition when tying to apply it to vinyl rips. Many articles have been written on the topic. I loves me a good vinyl rip, but I think it's apples and oranges to look st the numbers from a digital and needle-drop source.
Yeah, thats what I would have thought I'm still thinking the vinyl has the same mastering as the hi-res downloads until more info comes to light
The vinyl edition is fantastic. It's one of the best sounding live rock albums I own and on top of that it's a perfect pressing. You get a clear dynamic sound with just enough room ambiance to get the sense you're standing in that club in 1977. I just cannot praise this enough, it's so good.
