    I love these guys!

I wonder if Mick got in on the $179 deal through Amazon to be tossing those records around like that.

Keith referring to Exile: That's a good one!
    Mick: They're all good!

I wonder how many takes they did. Maybe that's why they suddenly ran out of stock.

Looks like they were expecting to hold them up for the camera ("I got a good one", says Keith, "what did you get?") but Mick takes a more anarchic approach... bloody brilliant

Poor Mick... Stuck between a rock and a hard place: having to succumb and do a silly unboxing video for the internet and also revisiting the past by rummaging through their old albums!

For everyone that has a box set let us know how they sound and see some more pics of some of the obscure LPs like VL, BTB etc. like gatefolds

And comments on the mastering of the digital downloads would be appreciated too. I picked up the previous issue of the 1/2 speed mastered Exile and it came with a lossless download. It was the 2009 remaster. I wonder if these will be different...

I’m lucky that I came to the Stones late and, even then, mostly indulged myself via streaming, so I’ve been able to get this set without duplicating any vinyl I already own. That’s a first for me. And I’ve never even listened to anything post-Dirty Work.

Yeah the stereo and mono sets, I meant as a package altogether, the sleeves, book, quality of the box. If you where to sell the book alone out of the stereo box you would get $79 easy. They didn’t sound to bad to me either but I didn’t have any of the earlier pressings to compare.

Just received this today. Listened to Sticky Fingers and was very pleased with the sound quality.

The grooves on Blue and Lonesome very observable. I have never seen a vinyl with that much space (between grooves) on vinyl. I look forward to listening to that lp set next.

Issues: On Exile remnants of the center hole of the vinyl was left in the sleeve which caused a couple of surface scratches on one track. Luckily no effect on the sound. And on Tattoo You the outer edge of the vinyl was rough in one spot.

Definitely check all the albums as soon as you get them!

  22. That’s the one album in this set I’m not excited to own another copy of as the original is not mastered very good at all. Too bad.

    But curious what others think.

Guys, my wife ordered one for me for delivery tomorrow (Sunday,UK) all because she didn’t want me to wait any longer for the US pre-order I put in that hasn’t been dispatched yet. It’s silly but I’m not complaining, Stones Sunday in my house!

Come on. I don’t believe you’d want that for a second. Look at all the fun you’ve had chasing down the Holy Grail. What would you have left to post about? :)
