Personally, I’d let him browse through all the records in my set.. What would be cooler than a Stones set with Mick’s finger prints all over it?
Ah well thanks. I will check through my box again. There is a black sort of A4 card with album titles on the black side and on the other white side the unique number and info on mastering and a list of thanks including a thanks to MPO. The other white card is in the tongue shape with tongue picture one side and the download info and code on the other white side. Hope that makes sense. Each album has it own thin plastic cover and although I have unpacked everything it all fits back in the box which is great.
I love this thread. Instead of over-analyze every second of mastering differences we are celebrating this release as actual fans, rather than audiophiles. There will be plenty of time to do that too, but for now I really enjoy the talk about that amazing unboxing video or Mick browsing with sticky fingers one member’s collection. I love it!
Sorry to bang on but this might help. What Keith picks up could well be the tongue shaped card with no download details on the rear as it appears some of us UK/Europe have a download and some folks USA do not. And I agree I do not want Sir Mick around here pawing through my MFSL 45rpm albums collection.
I would like to know as well. Sorry but I have not used my download card yet. The card does state " Please note the latest stereo remasters have been supplied for this download card" The choice is mp3 or wav. So hopefully they are the versions used on the vinyl box but they may be the much (and probably quite rightly) hated 2009 monsters.
Besides this video being absolutely hilarious, the coolest part is how well Mick and Keith appear to be getting on these days. And Ronnie looks healthy and happy.
Please let us know if you find something else.I suspect they did not get the final master reel for all tracks. I have also written to MD, but if someone at Universal is reading this I would love to find out what happened.
At that price I'm in. Like I said before, I only really need four of these. The rest I already have pristine mint copies of the originals.
We know Miles got multiple dubs of whatever tapes the band's management had; he picked the ones that sounded best and mastered from them. Sometimes the wrong mixes get stuck on a reel, it's happened before... no great mystery
I would, actually. I don’t find getting one copy after another of something that has one issue after another particularly enjoyable.
