So you would rather pay twice? Who cares as long as it comes out? A release may be considered "important" but the reality is that it is just product on a shiny disc.

There was a brilliant screenwriter in the mid-80s who contrived the idea of bootlegger suggesting that an artist cooperate with him for some extra income "on the side". Couldn't find a better picture, but that's "Big Bob" on your right.

The oracle has spoken and it has been confirmed that John's "cranberry sauce" audio will be surgically inserted into the Shea film, utilizing a turkey baster. :p

Actually, I'd be happy with a judicious mix of the '66 "overdub" session and the '65 in-line recording from Shea...to allow the band to sonically soar. :righton:

I don't think of it as paying twice. I just don't expect Shea to be hidden away as a bonus feature. Plus they are two separate entities. I wouldn't expect Let It Be to be released as a bonus feature on a Yellow Submarine dvd!

Maybe Apple will wait another 4-5 years and release the entire "The Beatles At Shea Stadium" film on 4k UHD disc or streaming services. Tie it in with the 55th anniversary of the concert in 2020. They missed the 50th anniversary, so what's another 5 years?

Shea is not in the same league. Wasn't originally a cinematic release. I think a 30 min featurette would fit perfectly on there especially as it is probably featured heavily in the movie.

Right, so let's hear from the other 55,599 people who were there, too.

Paul should have just hired Big Daddy to deal with him.

    It would have been E-ZAY! E-ZAY! E-ZAY!

While I'd agree with the frustration at the pace of release, as a general rule Apple have no interest in aligning releases with anniversaries, I can't think of many times they've intentionally looked to do so, outside of the Pepper CD in 87 and one or two other bits and pieces. They just think it's a bit obvious and it makes Macca feel old!

It's said that the Hollywood Bowl shows were the only professionally recorded Beatles concerts... So how was the audio for Shea and the Washington show and other filmed Beatles concerts recorded? (Unprofessionally?)

Squealy, I think they mean that was recorded for an actual album.

I feel like the process must also have been different but I don't know enough about movie sound to know what it was.

They mean the concert audio was recorded to a dedicated, multi-track tape recorder(in the case of Hollywood Bowl a mobile 3-track recorder), as opposed to the mono audio recorded by cameras.

Not to camera. To a mono tape. Cameras back then recorded the images and tape recorded the film.

Is it my imagination or are two of the questions from the press conference overdubbed with modern voices?
