I got a copy of that last time around (some copies must have slipped out early). It's such a fun release, and it looks great on hot pink vinyl. One weird thing is that 'Mirror in the Bathroom' on the last side seems to be mastered way louder (not in a brickwalled way, just the overall volume level) than all the rest of the tracks. No problems with my pressing.

I sort of doubt that it’s all analog.

I have a copy. Nice pressing. SQ is pleasant. I don’t know if it tops the original UK Apple though.

The LP is housed in a heavy cardboard inner sleeve. I re-sleeved my copy.

Zapruder, here's a video from the owner of the In The Grooves record store, RSD second drop, previewing the Paul McCartney solo S/T lp. He vaguely reads the information on the back of the lp cover. He questions the 1/2 speed mastering from the source masters. Have you bought any of the 1/2 speed masters from Abbey Road?

Finally received my last August 29th purchase today (was stuck in Media Mail limbo).

Spacehog-Resident Alien (from Plaid Room). They shipped it fairly quickly, it just had an extended layover in Pittsburgh.

I'll be sitting out the September drop (no must-haves for me...)

Just found out that I don't need to queue up this Saturday.
The store didn't preorder the one record I wanted, Roger Waters - The Wall in Berlin, because of political reasons.

I own several of the AR 1/2 speed masters, and from what I understand they are all digitally sourced. I was merely questioning this one due to the wording on the obi (I was going through my store’s RSD shipment when I made my initial post).

not much interest in the 2nd drop.....possibly The Who Montery lp but not sure how good that is likely to sound (they didn't have their own amps as I recall and were unhappy with the sound?)

Sounds like someone hasn't paid attention to the lyrics for about 45 years.

The only thing I'm really gunning for this drop is the Bill Evans. I might snag the Notorious BIG set if I can but not gonna kill me if I miss it.

We are no longer selling Woody Guthrie, Jefferson Airplane, Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs...pretty much anyone, really. The Skrewdriver section is over there.

I might pick up Fleetwood Mac, Yes (The Ladder) and early Small Faces.

I keep striking out on all the Resonance Records RSD titles locally, it's a shame these are so limited.
Being in Canada, super limited on-line options for RSD this time too.

He's not questioning the fact it's digital (he says it explicitly, Abbey Road half-speed is "always" digital)
With regard to what he's reading from the cover, he's specifically pointing out the imprecise wording of the half-speed remastering process,
where it says the "source master is required to be run at half speed".

During the lacquer cut at Abbey Road, the tape deck isn't running at all, the computer is feeding the signal to the cutting lathe.
So saying the "source master" is running half speed seems like it's referring to the tape, which would be wrong.

So technically i suppose it's possible the tape is run half-speed as Miles Showell's computer transfers the tape into the digital domain
before he masters it. But i doubt even that. There isn't any need to run the tape half-speed. The way Miles Showell cuts, the benefit
of the process is to slow the cutter head on the lathe. When cutting half speed directly from the tape (as Mofi does) of course the tape needs to be run slow.
But Miles does this playback on the computer.

Maybe that's too wordy and it would be simpler to explain it this way:
MOFI all analog half speed -
Tape runs half speed -> in real time analog electronics provide mastering and amplification -> lathe cuts the lacquer at half speed.

Abbey Road digital half speed -
Tape is transferred to a computer -> files are edited, sequenced, mastered -> completed file is run to lathe at half speed

Not sure if I should wait for further reviews but I think I might just buy the 2011 remaster.
I wanted to get this new RSD release initially,
but I am not sure if it will really sound any better than the archive edtion and be worth it.
I love the sound of the archive lp releases and I still have some gaps to fill with that series,
    like the McCartney album.

How's the RSD version sound? I'm on the fence for obvious reasons.
