I just receive a reply back from Run Out Groove's customer service regarding my order status of the Sepultura's Roots boxset: Thankfully, they haven't forgotten about me. Not sure what's going on exactly since the black vinyl is already available online and at some brick & mortar shops, so perhaps the coloured D2C vinyl edition was slightly delayed or overwhelmed with orders? So far, I haven't come across any social media posts from those who got the boxset.

That's their MO. I waited weeks after I got a message just like that. And was able to read raves about the music on the forum from everyone who bought elsewhere.
Still no update on my end as it has yet to be shipped. I saw ROG's Instagram account and people are complaining about their boxset not being shipped out yet despite being in-stock. And strangely, I never saw a single person on any social media platforms that bought the boxset, so no reviews nor any discussions despite being out for a week for the black coloured vinyl edition. At this point, ROG has REALLY dropped the ball on this one. I'll wait for another week and if nothing's being turned up, I'll escalate this further.

Out of nowhere, I got an automated call from UPS indicating that I had to pay the same amount of taxes on top of the taxes (and on top of the brokerage fees) I already paid when I made the pre-order for the Sepultura boxset. I never got any email or anything from ROG to indicate that's been shipped out. To say the least, I am not very pleased.
I just got my Sepultura Roots vinyl boxset today and the packaging was barely hanging on by a thread but is otherwise completely safe. I sent another email showing my initial invoice that I paid the taxes, shipping, etc in the initial order and the UPS COD invoice and asking that I get a refund of the duplicate amount of taxes I had to pay, plus the brokerage fees. EDIT: My copy is the three different coloured edition, not the randomly mixed clear colour vinyl edition. Vinyl master was done by Pete Weiss at Jade Cow Music Service and lacquer cut by JJ Golden at Golden Mastering.
I've lost my patience with ROG at this point and am contemplating cancelling my Deicide 9LP boxset order from them due to such BS.
I've opted to hope (<- notice I said hope!) that Bull Moose will offer the ROGs as a pre-sale. Much better customer service, item usually received on or before street date, and free shipping if you spend $45. This worked well for me with the recent Type O Negative reissues. I did get shut out on a Secret Machines title this way though, so if you want to be _assured_ of receiving a ROG, eventually, best to use their site, fingers crossed.
They still haven't updated the poll - it's been the same one for, what, 4 months now? Safe to say the label is dead.
Add me to the list of people who can't find their order on the website. I ordered their Kyuss release back in March. It was originally scheduled to be released I believe in November, but was delayed until January. I can't find any trace of an order history when I log in, and when I try searching for my order number directly (thankfully I saved the confirmation email) I just get no results found.
I emailed them about Kyuss two weeks back too. I got a standard reply but it attached an FAQ. In it I saw this, which might be helpful. “ Why am I unable to view my past order history on the store site? We are currently migrating our ecommerce platform to a new system. Due to this platform change, you may not be able to review information on your past purchases, or log into your account. We are working to getting this information updated as soon as possible. We can confirm that any pending orders you have will still process & ship. (You will receive an email confirmation when your order goes out.)”
Last night, I spent some time listening and going over Sepultura's Roots vinyl boxset and I must say it's very well-done, overall. Pressed and manufactured by Record Industry, the slipcase box is a thick chipboard and the album covers are tip-on and the artwork reproduction is also very impressive all-around. Audio is also great and a definite improvement over the original LP and CD and reissues on LP, meaning the new master by Pete Weiss has improved dynamic range, very good volume (and not a low-volume cut that plagued the original LP and reissues), and much lesser likelihood of inner groove distortion. In the meantime, I'm still waiting from ROG's customer service regarding the overcharges.
Still waiting for my copy to show. Strange how your copy showed up days before mine is scheduled and you are in Canada. Did ROG ship via a faster mode of UPS to Canada vs US? Mine is going basic UPS ground from California to New Jersey - and Ottawa is closer to New Jersey than California. Oh well, at least I don't have to pay duty, taxes, fees, etc. Good luck on getting your double charge on those back.
They are waiting for the challenges to the voting method to work their way through the courts before they declare a winner.
My copy was shipped via UPS Worldwide Saver, which is about two to three business days to deliver from the US to Canada.
After I told customer service that their copy & paste answers from their FAQ was unacceptable while standing my ground on the double tax charges and threatening to cancel my Deicide 9LP order, my case is being escalated to a specialist from their team.
This was my first and last ROG order. I need more updates on a long wait like this. I can see why that might not bother some, but honestly the open ended nature of this kinda got on my nerves eventually. I’m not sure what I expected though! I knew there would be a wait. I think though a mail or two updating the customer along the way would be advisable with their business model. I’ll stick to more conventional ways of buying music next time. Once this Kyuss record arrives I’ll report back on condition and such. Fingers crossed it arrives in one piece.
