Their legacy is the never-ending debate over whether Tragical History Tour is canon or compilation

Ouch! is underrated in The Rutles filmography. All anyone talks about is A Hard Day's Rut, over and over...

Where would Noel Gallagher be without the prefab four for inspiration?

They not only made thievery and destruction a new art form, but also helped aging Rock Stars find extra work to earn a few bob to tie them over between multi million dollar gigs.

Sadly, despite our romanticised views on their legacy, the truth is that Dirk has formed, with his wife Martini, a punk rock group, called "The Punk Floyd". He sings, and she doesn't. Nasty has turned his back on the world, and sits with his thoughts and his memories. Barry is a hairdresser in the Reading area, with two fully equipped salons of his own. While Stig works for Air India. As an air hostess.

Just waiting for the newly recorded version of Ron Nasty's "Grow Cold With Me" featuring Barry Wom and Dirk McQuickly - a track from Wom's new album "What's My Shame". I hope it is as good as McQuickly's "Rome Platform" from 2018...

This is required viewing. Everything, including the trousers, in 13 minutes.

The Beatles Rutled. Mozart Rutled. Awesome stuff.

How I wish Neil Innes did so much more. He has talent oozing out of his ears.

Right? I love how he's just like "So I had to throw together a bunch of songs" when talking about one of the greatest examples of musical parody/pastiche ever.

People talk down the old Hollywood machine of forcing actors to make so many movies a year, yet look how a creative person responds to a challenge.

    There's a life lesson there.

Absolutely. "We just got it done." I can think of a few artists who could take a lesson from that. Or, for that matter, take a look at how many albums that Rutles parody band from Liverpool released from 1963-1970.

The Rutles had agreed to have their music used in an Cirque du Soleil revue, titled "Live". Alas, fans bought up tickets with thinking that it was actually going to be The Rutles reforming and performing live, as it were. The confusion and refunds issued sank the production, although it is rumored that there is a mind-bending, unreleased 5.1 surround mix by Giles Melvin of Rutles music that creates a trippy, ambient soundtrack to the show that could've been.
