Though pricey, the boxset is quite lovely. Plus the bonus tracks.

Now if MFSL would only tackle Cold Roses or Jacksonville City Night's...

The HDTracks download is very good. It is audibly more dynamic than the original cd release.

Though I originally started this thread, I never picked up the MFSL vinyl box. I couldn't wrap my head around spending that much for a single album.

Just got the box set the other day, #5969. Really sounds fantastic and the third record is essential, IMO. Really great stuff on there.

This is my favorite Ryan Adams album. I just ordered the MFSL set with Musicdirect's 20% off vinyl promotion. It came to only $51.99!

I wish the Japan-only bonus tracks were available digitally. Crap.

You're in for a treat. This record is arguably my favorite DRA & the MFSL is one of the best pressings you will ever hear.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago. It's outstanding, to say the least!

This is an outstanding set. Curiously, I find that it steps up sonically on Side 2, i can't imagine it sounding much better. The Shadowlands especially sounds brilliant...

Do we still have no idea why the Shadowlands and Anybody Want To Take Me Home solos are different on this set than the original release?

Anyone noticed the increase in fidelity from side 2 onwards? It’s like it was recorded in a different session/studio...

I haven’t noticed it being appreciably different. I’ll try to give it another listen.

It appears AMAZON is selling it for $39 right now. It's not in stock but i'm sure it will be again eventually...solid deal.

Amazing deal. I bought it at about twice that amount when it looked like it might be out of print. :realmad:

Ordered. A bit extra for UK but still £60 less than the price on Amazon UK :)

Does anyone know if the HDTracks/Acoustic Sounds/MFiT downloads feature the alternate version of Shadowlands like the MFSL release? Seems conspicuous that they were all released around the same time...

No it doesn’t. But the mastering on the hi res is better than the cd.

Just purchased this for €90 (110 dollars)..Top marks for presentation & sound but i’m HORRIFIED to discover that the version of ‘Anybody Wanna Take Me Home’ is NOT the album version but rather the one that appears on the ‘Rock n’ Roll’ album (minus the fade out)....What a clumsy f@!k up!

Yeah, noticeably different-but at least the beauty of the song and the sonic cohesion of the album are maintained..
I’m far less happy about ‘Anybody Wanna...as the Love is Hell version has a looser Johnny Marr vibe that suits the album a lot better. It’s ironic that in producing a high end product such a colossal blunder went unnoticed.

I listened to LP2 last night, this is so true, one of the best MFSL releases.
