I own Cooke's Tour, Mr. Soul, Night Beat, Shake, and I just purchased Swing Low (all on mono).

I've been passing on the stereo copies I've seen for sale for continuity puropses. But I'm curious as to what you guys prefer?

I've only heard Night Beat in stereo, and I love it. How are the mini mixes?

The mono sounds fantastic, but I don't have a stereo to compare it to.

I am so close to completely my RCA Sam Cooke Mono vinyl collection. Was super lucky to lock down a NM copy of "Night Beat". Only need to upgrade my copy of "Ain't That Good News" and find a copy of the self-titled one, aka "Swing Low". I have really been enjoying the mono mixes. Does anyone know if these albums were originally mixed for mono primarily? Any opinions on his RCA catalogue mono vs. stereo?

Sam was murdered before stereo replaced mono so the essential SC is in the monoraul mix....

    For my $ anyway

Were all the original lp’s and 45’s released in mono only?
