Agreed. Although it's been years since I actually got an experience from SNL I came for in the first place. Oliver never fails, so I only hold them up to one another in terms of satisfaction/experience ratio.

Finally got to watch the last episode. I love Maya Rudolph. Everything she does cracks me up. She made every joke funnier. I’m still laughing about the Beyoncé sketch

Can't believe it's the season finale already.

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned or whatever, but it’s a shame that the Saturday evening rerun has gone from vintage/classic to last week’s.

Ugh.... "short bus" joke in 2024. And most the crowd laughed too.

Sabrina's performance felt very lipsynched. Her singing came across as phony as her extensions.
Shame they couldn't get a better artist for the finale.

WU was great though, especially Che's reaction when he read Kendrick Lamar's name.

I almost feel bad for Ashlee Simpson. She was just ahead of her time.

Wondering what cast member shake-ups we'll get in the next season. I'd say drop Molly Kearney, she feels fairly one dimensional and despite being featured since 2022, she barely made any kind of impression, even compared to other cast members that started at the same time, like Marcello and Devon.
Speaking of, I feel Devon has really grown this season. Knows how to make the most out of the time he gets.

Overall I thought last night was dreadful. The cold open felt trite and predictable. I’m over the Weekend Update guest spots. I can’t remember the last time I actually laughed at those. Jost and Che are the two most reliable contributors.

Was Sabrina singing live? I watched the clips and it sure as hell looks 100% lip synched! I really don't get the current popularity of the first tune.

Just curious: are the musical performances performed live in front of an audience? The ones I've watched in recent seasons, seem like they are filmed in a vacuum.

I genuinely think Marcello and Sarah Sherman are the only ones that are "safe". Mikey Day is VITAL to the flow of sketches, but I imagine he is getting tired of being at SNL. Bowen Yang might actually have the chutzpah to voluntarily LEAVE, thinking there are bigger things out there for him.

Just re-name the show "Punkie Johnson's Goodtime Fun 90 Minute Hour".

  21. She was lip synching up to 3:50 I think.

I agree. The only thing I enjoyed was the Scooby Doo film. Extremely well done and they must have put
a lot of work into it, same as the A Christmas Carol one with Steve Martin and Martin Short.
As always, since I DVR it, I'm glad I can fast forward through all of the unfunny stuff and
    musical guests.

The guest spots at the news desk are almost always an instant fast forward until they go back to Jost & Che. It's just a waste of a couple of minutes that could be just them doing their thing.

I’m not a fan. But mad props for him playing live with no lipsyncing or backing tracks. That’s what REAL musicians do.
