    Never mind the groove damage.....what's going on with the zig-zag scratches!?!?!?! :faint: You must have *really* 'pressed the stylus against the record', then dragged it backwards and forwards for good measure.....:tsk:

    You could then CAREFULLY cut out the scratched track with a fine-toothed handsaw and replace it with the unscratched one from the replacement copy. Bit of invisible tape, job's a good 'un.

    Totally bonkers thread in the first place IMO.
    You damage a LP .
    You chalk it up to experience and buy a replacement or not.
    Simple as.
