Are they closing up shop ?
I haven't been back for over a year and just looked.
I was never happy with what they offered anyway .
I'm not selling and wish that I would stop buying !:hide:

The site also mentions "Inventory Reduction" with a 25% discount on all titles priced over $1.99. Guess they are shutting down, or at least downsizing.

I know, I got one last sell shipment in just before the deadline but they have had it for a week now and haven't processed it yet, usually done immediately. Hmm, hoping they get to it this week.

My last resort before donating to the library. I didn’t know they were closing. Oh well.

Oh damn. I bought some Cds a few weeks ago. They arrived on Friday and sadly like 50% of them are scratched. Bought almost all of my CD collection from them. It'll be very sad if they indeed shutdown.

If there is indeed a column for "poorest record store", Second Spin certainly qualifies for a nomination. I think the last time I was in that place was during the Clinton administration. Haven't missed it.

I bought CDs from them in the late 2000's/early 2010's. Got some good deals on jazz box sets, 80's Ron McMaster Blue Note CDs and such.

Just went to the site and saw this. It saddens me, as I've bought a lot from them.

    Guess it wasn't enough. :shake:

They are now up to 40% off. Stick a fork in them.

Yup. Their email blast reads Good buys, then goodbye!

Except that many prices are higher than they were last week, when everything was 25% off! I made a mental note of a few box set prices last week anticipating further price cuts. Instead they are playing games with "previous" prices and percentage discounts
I suspect that SecondSpin has been sold to a liquidator, which is trying to salvage as much cash as possible from unsuspecting consumers.
    As you said, they're done....

Wow, that's tight. Boo, hiss. :disgust:

Wonder what they'll do with the stuff that doesn't sell? Do they have a brick & mortar shop?

They said somewhere they'll sell through FYI or something like that (not from the States, sorry)

Whoever is doing the liquidating is definitely playing games. I bought a disc last October priced regularly at $2.99, and now it's priced regularly at $7.99.

Looks like they are shutting down. My personal favorites doesn't have anything I am interested in.

    No Dick's Picks, LivePhish, etc.

They sold to a liquidator and they plucked all the good stuff and want us to buy the dregs.

I wasn't able to find any of these titles used on fye.com either. Seems to be only new releases there. Fye.com seems to be a list price plus 10% mall store.
