I'll only buy it if Giles Martin remixed the soundtrack and added super-sonic bass frequencies to George Burns' narration.

It was one of the worst movies I ever watched.

Now if only we can get KISS Meets The Phantom of the Park on bluray with a 5.1 surround remix, then I'll be happy.

i wasn't even that big of a fan of the Beatles at that age (10/11), but it still offended the hell outta me!

    It's funny to think....
I went to see this, in the theatre. I bought the cassette of the soundtrack.
    I was also 10...
I was uncomfortable with the entire thing, but then,
at the end of that same year, "The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash" was aired on TV...
that mixture of Pythons, SNL, and an actual Beatle must've shocked the movie right out of my system,
'coz, it was there and then, when I became an official 'Beatle-freak'!

    maybe Giles mixed in Mono?

Or i would just listen to the commentary track w/ Peter Frampton & Barry Gibb, once if offered.

Lots of blu rays I wish would come out. This? No one is going to buy this. It's so bad it isn't even campy. It's absolutely terrible from any and all perspectives. I remember the Bee Gees begging Stigwood to let them out once it started filming.

I was actually wondering when this was coming out on BluRay. I figured it would be a Wal-Mart exclusive so points to Shout Factory.

As a forum moderator and a movie fan, I now give you permission to complain about every other title that has yet to get a Blu-ray release since they *have* to be better than this.

oh I could name a bunch, namely a number of Costner classics (for love of the game, tin cup, open range, upside of anger, 3000 miles to graceland etc etc).

Aerosmiths version of Come Together was the only good thing that came from the film imo.
I have that on thier Greatest Hits album.

I love The Bee Gees and Peter Frampton, just not this stinker of a film.

The Brothers Gibb knocked it out of park with the SNF soundtrack, and Frampton with his Comes Alive, then they make this horrible mistake of a film...

I don't agree with you 100%, but Earth, Wind, and Fire's "Got to Get You into My Life" appears on *their* greatest hits album, so the disagreement is barely worth mentioning.

I loved this when I was 10 and this first came out. I was just becoming a huge Beatle fan. I even bought the novelization. At least I was smart enough not to buy the soundtrack. I still have a soft spot for Sandy Farina (Strawberry Fields), but yeah, this is one unwatchable movie.

  25. A making of featurette would be more interesting that the actual film. Mike Schultz is still around..so a commentary track would be possible.

Robin Gibb was so deluded that he was quoted at the time of release:

There is no such thing as the Beatles now. They don't exist as a band and never performed Sgt Pepper live in any case. When ours comes out, it will be, in effect, as if theirs never existed."

P.S. Maurice Gibb's raised eyebrows while breaking the fourth wall is worth the price of admission.
