Check out the thread about "sterile" recordings and you will find out what the term "Nashville Soul Filter" refers to.

Norm, you give me a good laugh all (OK, maybe most) of the time!
    [thread crap]
hynapgogic revelry is the exhileration that you experience that split second before you fall asleep - you are half dreaming/half awake. It's almost like perring into your dream state from the outside. Do a search on "lucid dreaming" - there are some very informative sites, and a few wack-o ones as well. I haven't actually tried it in a few years.

Audio Fatigue: A conditon where an over-use of compression/and or noise reduction causes a sensation of uncomfortable pressure on the ears resulting in either reducing volume to lounge-level listening or removal.

Audio Viagra: A listening experience causing over-excitment and sexual prowess. New pressings and new equipment are the main contributors to this temporary condition.

Boosted or Boosted EQ.: A pressing where there has been added an excessive amount of bottom, top, and sometimes complete frequencies while sucking the "Breath Of Life" out of the music. Generally thought to be unpleasant to listen to.

    ....to be continued.

from one of the Doors threads: "flown in"

I'll let someone else come up with a proper definition but I believe this term was first used in the liner notes of the Beatles Anthology discs. Do we need to credit Mark Lewisohn?

Steve H. used the term this evening in reference to Jim Morrison's unused vocals being mixed into the stereo master from the multi's.

It's not always the same as overdubbing though, right?

The first time I read that, it sounded like you had discoved a new or named a new gemstone that I was going to have to buy for my wife.

Ahh but then at the same time I guess Steve's work on remastering once finished could also be decribed as a Gem too  Wouldn't you all agree??:D

Yeah - and by the way, what's a mudbone, anyway? Sure doesn't sound like another gemstone...

Mudbone's origin really came from the mind and mouth of Richard Pryor. Richard would be begged to have his character of Mudbone speak great wisdom's and truth's for his live stage concerts.

In a way the forum's Mudbone also does the same only here just for us:cool:
