That's kinda the problem with the R&RHOF in a nutshell, and the reason so many people see it as a farce.
Yes, she definitely should! She has a history with working with Phil Spector and singng on a lot of Pop Classics from the 60s as well as having hit records that stretches to today. Personally I listen to her work and get much more pleasure from it than Madonnas work. Cher a much better actress too!
Totally this. I'm not a fan of Madonna. But I have to recognize her musical accomplishments. Cher? Not so much.
So was Pat Boone I'd say let her in...after Harry Nilsson and The Moody Blues, and before The Archies and Jobriath.
Yeah, why not? She's had a long lasting and versatile career. Not everything she's done has been super successful, but she's still a big name even today.
Considering others who are already in, she should probably be voted in......but it should be with Sonny. Maybe as with Small Faces/Faces, she should go in as Sonny & Cher/Cher.
It is the hall of "fame," after all, not the hall of quality. I'm no fan, but considering Cher has maintained her fame over a period of over 50 years, who is more qualified?
I would be fine with her being in. Her music has covered lot of territory in more than 50 years. Pop, disco, r&b and, yes, some rock. #1 singles spanning several decades. And the Allman and Woman album is really pretty good.
No dice. Not much significant musical achievement, and she's more of a general pop celebrity than a music figure per-se.
