I don't care. It would be like putting a pair of pants on Michelangelo 's David because someone didn't appreciate looking at his junk.

Sure...and add some auto-tune to all the songs, too.

While the decision to film in black and white was a monetary one and dictated by the producer(s), not the director, Lester took that "lemon" and made an artistic decision to use the black and white to heighten the documentary feel of the film, so, no. Colorization would be a horrible decision in this case. This lemonade does not need more sugar.

I didn't really just ask a bunch of millennials what their thoughts were on black and white films from a half-century ago.

Well it would have to be better than this, but even here, you can see some nice possibilities. :agree:

Absolutely not. If they can't bother with it because it's black and white, forget em

What does colorization have to do with appeal?

I often find the colorized versions of films less appealing than the B&W originals.

I'm not really tied to history as such, but my main question would be why?
Part of the beauty of old movies is the black and white ... in my opinion anyhow

Elvis did color in '57 with "Loving You", so I do not think of '64 as a Black & White world only. It for sure is with television more than the movies.
I think doing a color version of HDN is OK, as long as we still have the original.

I've been to a couple of nostalgia film festivals where the movies, or most of them, were in monochrome (incorrectly called "black and white"). What I found is that for the first few minutes of the movie I was thinking "Hmmm, this is in monochrome", and then I ceased to even notice the lack of colour because I was concentrating on the movie itself.
