Ed Saunders is retired. He sold his business a couple years ago. Some have expressed doubt as to where the current operator of the business is acquiring her stock, but I have no personal experience in that area. Just pointing out that you may want to do more research -- or wait for up-to-date feedback from others -- before making a purchase.

Well, that's too bad. Some people are not completely satisfied with the JICO replacement stylus for their Shures. Would have nice to have had an alternative.

I've seen mostly positive reviews of the inexpensive JICO / EVG elliptical stylii for Shure cartridges. Which cartridge do you have?

I picked up an Ed Saunders stylus for one of my V15III's. After listening to sibilance that I could not get rid of I tossed it in the garbage and ordered a Jico SAS that I was and still am very impressed with. FWIW...the Saunders unit was purchased after he retired.

Yeah, the word is out, no longer good. You're probably getting an off-the-rack $12 pfanstiehl.

Years ago they were great replacements but as it has been pointed out they're garbage these days IMO.

    How bad Pfanstiehls are ?

Not necessarily bad, just frustratingly inconsistent. For everyone I know who's happy with their Pfanstiehl stylus, the next person got a bad one. Best to stick with Jico or NOS (if possible).

    Happy trails,
    Larry B.
