Can't seem to find this in any form at the usual online hi res stores. Any ideas?

Sorry, Apple doesn’t sell any of the Beatles music online in flac

Simple answer - you can't. No digital retailers offer any Beatles (other than remixes from the last few years) in high res. I hope that changes soon.

Only the deluxe Sgt. Pepper and White Album are offered online in hi-res.

The only way to get a hi-res copy of Rain would be from the 1+ Blu-Ray, you’ll have to rip it to FLAC yourself. No downloads.

    And these are both remixes?

What is "the 1+ Blu-Ray" ? No idea what that means.

What's the USB drive going for these days?

Can't remember - was there one for the mono box too, or just the stereo box?

Ok, I'm getting the picture. I haven't kept up with any of this 'til now. I can't find it cause it doesn't exist.

It’s the Blu-Ray (high capacity multimedia digital disc) included in the Beatles 2015 release titled “1+”

Specifically, a hi-res stereo remix of Rain can be found on disc 2

Thank you for the info - I really couldn't tell from the amazon description exactly what was what. So is everything on all 3 BR disks remixes?

Just 2 Blu Rays,1 disc is a CD. pretty much all remixes. Stereo and surround too! The 2nd Blu Ray has a lot of stuff not on the CD. Excellent video quality. It’s a must own.

You have to buy an LP with an original mix (Parlophone UK best), then needledrop it in high res. With excellent equipment.

Those are upsampled and worthless. The 1+ Bluray would be the best choice, or a hi res needle drop but that's not available officially

Upsampled? I thought the USB drive was 24/44.1 (which isn’t exactly ideal hi-res, but is technically hi-res nevertheless). Of course it suffers from the same compression and EQ as the 16/44.1 version.

I don’t doubt that the Blu-ray or a needle drop would sound better. The more I hear of the ‘09 box and compare to other versions, the less I like the box.

I would certainly trust sellers on Discogs over Amazon. Did you see the condition description?

"NO SLEEVE - DISC ONLY - shiny disc but with play marks/scuffs, some light handwriting on label. Capitol yellow and orange label 5651."

"Shiny disc but with play marks" sounds like a novice wrote this.

  23. Just get the official 16bit FLAC version here:
    Past Masters | The Beatles
Since a needledrop of the single seems to be acceptable to you, this will do fine. Or most 2nd hand record stores sell it for less than $10.

For the most part, I’m sorry to say, Discogs descriptions, if indeed there are any, aren’t much better.
