I've been listening to this CD. For a mid-80s CD it sounds fantastic.

Super smooth and warm. I can't detect any digital'ness.

    Official DR value: DR14

Also the soul-pop sound takes me back to my youth.

I believe there has been a reissue/remaster of this CD. I can't imagine in any way that this would improve this album.

    Dennis.

Indeed. Mastered by forum member and recording engineer extraordinaire, Barry Diament.

I was given the LP a couple of years ago. Believe it or not, I've never played it after noticed it was in poor condition :(

I have the WEA CD in a Smooth Case and it suppose to be the same mastering as the WG disc. One of my CDs I use for testing. Men and Women sounds great as well.

    This CD depresses now me.

For a 1985 CD, it sounds better than 98% of the modern pop CDs sold today.

Where did it all go wrong?

Anyway, Barry did a killer job on this CD. Well done Barry, I appreciate your sonic wok on this production.

Don't believe this. The original US cd of Picture Book is fantastic sounding.

It should be the same as the WG.
Mastering was done by Barry Diament in the US, then send to Germany.

The 92 remaster from Bernie Grundman sounds nice, too. Has anyone compared these two?
