I've created a separate thread for this as the vinyl reissues are getting buried in the Ever After thread.

The first two albums of the to be reissued appear to be Tinderbox and JuJu, both are up on Amazon Canada with a 7 May release date.

The recently released Scream picture disc isn't part of this reissue program and a conventional black pressing will come out at some point. I'm assuming Join Hands will also get a reissue too in its original sleeve. Its also the UK versions that are coming out, so without the singles that were added to the North American albums.

It will be interesting to see what happens with The Rapture, as it was never actually released on vinyl in the UK.

I could have sworn "The Rapture" did receive a standard EU vinyl release but amazingly it didn't. So what do you think they could do with "The Rapture"? Fluorescent vinyl is unlikely, isn't it? Even though I love that in the 1995 pressing.

Were there more US Siouxsie releases coming with bonus 7-inches? The only one I am aware of is "Juju" with "Israel".

There is also a black vinyl US pressing of The Rapture, I have both.

Juju was the only US album with a 7" but that was only on the initial PVC pressing. Some albums had non-lp singles added, HKG on The Scream for example.

I know but when I learned about its existence, I needed to have the fluorescent pressing. It's silly but I'm a big fan of glow in the dark vinyl:righton:

Wasn't aware of the added tracks on US Banshee albums. The only one I have is "Juju". "Hong Kong Garden" on "The Scream" is probably not an especially good idea. It's the perfect single... it just doesn't fit on the album.

This is awesome news. I've wanted almost the the entire Siouxie catalogue since I got back into vinyl, but finding these records in the U.S. is near impossible.

especially when they put it as track 1 on side 1 before Pure!

Dear Prudence was added to Hyaena, I thought there were others, but that seems to be the only 2.

I think they are only getting a UK release, like The Scream pic disc, but will be easy enough to get online.

Most Banshees albums are pretty easy to find online just now, except Twice Upon A Time.

While The Cure originals are rising in price and demand, vintage Siouxsie vinyl seems to have fallen back to 10€. At least the "classic" 1978-89 stuff.

....and I have no explanation for that....it seems weird/ unfair.

They are available online, but mostly from sellers outside the U.S. which means high shipping costs, and generally in less than mint condition. Hopefully, the reissues will eventually be released here.

Superstition and A Kiss In The Dreamhouse domestic US releases are showing on the Bull Moose website. Release date 4/28/17. There's no sign of these as yet on Amazon US ... they seem to be shying away from listing Universal releases until much closer to release date recently.

(The UK imports of Juju and Tinderbox also show at Bull Moose, with 4/7/17 release dates. I'm still unsure as to whether these are picture discs or not.)

I hope they do these right. The digital versions of all things Banshees have been a disgrace for the most part.

I would love to see some wonderful vinyl reissues!

"Hong Kong Garden" was only on an early US pressing of The Scream. I used to have an 80s Geffen pressing which definitely did not have "Hong Kong Garden." But yeah, that song had no business being on that album.

Not in the US. Used Banshees albums in good condition go for at least $20-$25 these days, and they're pretty elusive - even US pressings.

See this is dead easy to get right and requires no new effort at all. All they need do is replicate the original mastering/EQ of the Uk vinyl and press these well. Both JuJu and Tinderbox sound fantastic on their original vinyl pressings. Listening to side 2 of Tinderbox right now on headphones and it sounds great (maybe a just a tiny wee bit more Bass would be good but i can increase that on my amp). Will they pretty much just leave these alone and do it right? Hmmmm.

Must say that JCV's guitar contribution to Tinderbox was excellent; shame he did not work out.

His playing is great indeed. Razor sharp and imaginative, like it much better than Robert on "Hyaena".

I'm surprised to hear that Siouxsie vinyl is getting hard to find in the US. I was able to collect Juju, Dreamhouse, Hyaena, and Tinderbox cheaply and easily a few years ago.

I'd love to find out the sound quality on these when they are released.

The "Join Hands" reissue from Record Store Day.... I guess it was 2015 was excellent. If the new vinyl editions are as good, they are fantastic. (Not that I need new Banshees vinyl, got "Join Hands" primarily for the revised artwork but I loved the sound)

Robert kind of phoned it in on Hyaena didn't he? Robert is (was) a great frontman and songwriter for The Cure; but whilst he is a good guitar player and there was interesting playing on albums such as Pornography he is fairly straightforward. You can hear how he plays John McGeoch's parts on Nocturne. It is good and accurate but just doesn't have the tone and feel. JCV had a great tone and feel too. You can hear it on Lands End and 92Degrees and other tracks. McKay was another really good guitarists sound wise so there was a lot to live up to. The Banshees were in one way really lucky to have had 3 great guitarists and unlucky to lose them all acrimoniously. The other guys that stood in like Smith, Klein and. was it Knox Chandler really sound lacking compared to the other 3.

Steve Jones' contributions to Kaleidoscope were pretty great too FWIW.

I have a Canadian copy of The Scream on Polydor which has HKG on it. Totally ruins the flow of the album.

If these are done like The Scream picture disc, they will be new flat tape transfers to high res digital with the high res offered on a download card with the albums. It would be very disappointing if they didn't continue in that manner after The Scream. I expect Join Hands should not be the master used for the RSD edition. That was mastered by Kevin Metcalfe (cringe) and the files used for the vinyl were brickwalled and there was an issue with the opening note of the bell on the first track, 'Poppy Day'. He tried to rectify it in the Classic Album CD box set by sampling that note from the 2006 Gary Moore remaster. The cut was plainly visible in Audition's spectral view. As long as he is nowhere near these vinyl reissues or new transfers, I expect mostly satisfaction.

Yes! I love Tinderbox and I think it's one of their more underrated albums. The composition is insanely good, and it's a thoroughly consistent and cohesive batch of songs. I rate it just behind Kaleidoscope, Juju, and Dreamhouse. JVC's playing on Tinderbox is amazing: totally imaginative, melodic, unique, etc. He kind of channels John McGeoch without aping him. I think he gelled much better with the Banshees than Robert Smith. Hyaena is a good album, but I feel as if Smith just wasn't really giving it his all, whereas JVC is all in on Tinderbox. (His playing is excellent on Through the Looking Glass too; it's really a shame he left, because I feel like their subsequent albums really lacked distinctive guitar playing.)
