Every audio site of any size has a resident tube amplifier & receiver rebuilder. This site does not appear to have one. I want to take that role. What do you think?

Contact one of the Gorts is probably your best option but I see no problem with it. Perhaps changing your title from Forum Resident to something like Tube Amps Rebuilder is all you have to do and will show up in all of your posts.

OK, I will have an amplifier that I rebuilt for a site member posted here. I will have him post it in audio hardware under The Art of Rebuilding Tube Amplifiers..

I'm not sure of the best way to handle this issue, but I can say that I personally would appreciate knowing of SH forum members who are skilled at repairing/refurbishing/rebuilding audio gear. There probably isn't critical mass yet, but a dedicated thread might be handy at some point.

And yes, the more info we have on past projects, the type of gear you specialize in, etc. the better! I know that several skilled technicians post regularly over on Audiokarma, which makes sense because nearly all vintage gear can benefit from some refurbishing. Some specialize in Marantz gear, others are more focused on Sansui etc.

Well, I performed over 100 rebuilds of all types of gear. What happen is I had no intension of performing for others. But, did so for myself over the last 40 years. My BIL got cancer and because of a trake tube in his neck, he could not drive. My sister was too old to drive him 80 miles to Manhattan, NY horrific traffic everyday. 2 months later my sister was sick with cancer too. I had to care for both of then 24/7. I started to rebuild amps due to being bored. It took off. My rebuilds were compared to same amp rebuilds by others and a few posted my rebuilds were the best. I did not do that, would not do that. That got me banned from AK and they would not state why I was banned. They always give a reason. I think I was taking business from a big shot at AK- I am sure of that. So, I was banned.
But, the rebuilds kept coming. After both the BIL & sister died I stop rebuilding and went back to my management hob. Now, I want to start rebuilds again. It brings others a lot of pleasure. It is meaningful work. I experimented with many parts & tubes over the years. I had 1000s of NOS vintage tubes from Europe & USA. So I learned on how to build the best sounding amps. I shipped to quite a few 'big guys' and even overseas due to my reputation. Never had a complaint.
