They do still say that, which is one of the reasons why I ended up having to sell them instead of just returning them which is what I should have done. I thought, "If I keep playing them, all of the crackles and pops will magically disappear!" They did not, of course, and I ended up buying new ones which sounded great. I couldn't find a new OTL for less that $100 so I passed on that but I did get a sealed 1966 mono copy on Ebay for $30. No complaints with that one, or with the SACDs.

Thank you sir! The Corner Record Shop has some amazing stuff in it, doesn't it? Well anyway, I hope you enjoy them. "Where Are You" was the least problematic of the bunch. Be careful with the second side of "No One Cares", though. Yikes!

The old days of mfsl they called that "dehorning" the vinyl.

I saw this thread pop back up twice today and thought "Ooo what if? Come Fly With Me MFSL?... Wee Small...?"

    sigh...

The MFSL vinyl has much more depth than the SACDs IMO. System dependant of course. Even with a few pops. I bought backup LPs for all of these just in case I drop one or something!

Sure enough, I just looked at the inner-stiffener thingy in the POINT OF NO RETURN vinyl, and there's a phrase about how a high-quality stylus will actually "polish the groove." I hadn't noticed that for a while, but then, I'm old and senile now.

But what if you drop the backup? :D

    Then you play the SACD.

Agreed. I was listening to the Sinatra at the Sands vinyl the other night and it's pretty jaw dropping. One can only wonder what the Swinging Affair and SFSL vinyl versions might have sounded like.

Hopefully the SACD doesn't disintegrate….like some CDs do…...

How many of the Sinatra SACD and Gold CDs are still in print?
Some are nowhere to be seen at the usual sites.
Maybe time to buy up the ones I need/can find now.

    Thanks Bob,
I thought there were more but perhaps the other titles I'm thinking of were vinyl only.
I know where I can find both of the Gold CDs so I'll grab them first, along with one (maybe two) of the SACDs

    Here's another question:
Can't afford all of the SACDs at once.
Already have Songs For Swingin' Lovers.
Where do I start with the remaining 5, which ones are in danger of disappearing first.
    Thanks

Grabbed one the Nice 'N' Easy's - that's the lowest price I've seen for a gold one in a while.

Once again, I am indebted to you, Bob - thanks.

MoFi released several Reprise titles on vinyl only. Only the Capitol issues had CD or SACD versions.

For the record (;)), these are all the MFSL 180g limited-edition Sinatra LPs:

MFSL 2-312 —> Sinatra and Sextet: Live in Paris
    MFSL 1-313 —> Sinatra & Strings
    MFSL 1-317 —> Nice 'n' Easy
MFSL 1-326 —> Frank Sinatra Sings for Only the Lonely
MFSL 2-332 —> Sinatra at the Sands
    MFSL 1-333 —> Sinatra's Sinatra
MFSL 1-344 —> Swing Along With Me
MFSL 1-345 —> The Concert Sinatra
MFSL 1-406 —> Where Are You?
    MFSL 1-407 —> Sinatra's Swingin' Session!!!
MFSL 1-408 —> No One Cares
MFSL 1-409 —> Point of No Return

(Links are to Music Direct; red titles have sold out.)

Definitely pick up Where Are You?, which is the mono mix (unique in digital). And A Swingin' Affair! (like Songs for Swingin' Lovers!) is among the best it's ever sounded.

I don't think any of the six SACDs are in danger of disappearing any time soon. Remember that the two Gold CDs preceded those by a number of years.

Like Bob said get Where Are You? as the first SACD. Fantastic mono recording you can hear every note the band is playing and Frank is next to you on the couch. I would get the gold cds of Only The Lonely and Nice 'N' Easy before they completely disappear. Also get those 2 MFSL vinyls soon. Only The Lonely MFSL vinyl is going for astronomical prices on Amazon. I try to buy these as they come out because a few years later they triple in price. The vinyls sound beautiful too.
