For Canadians I guess. I live right down the interstate, so it's always been reasonable here.
Just checked my 5 orders from 2019 : Highest was $4.00.

 

For Canada, forget it! $98 to ship some outer jackets. No, I'm not joking.

To a NY address, almost $18. Still high and using only FedEx. I assume USPS would be much cheaper.

 

Only option I've ever used since I could pick them up in person, if I was jonesing for some BBQ as well.

Yes, that’s strange.
Just placed my order. For some reason, the media mail option goes away if your order gets to big. I removed 1 item and the media rate was available. Media mail is about $6 for 4 packs of sleeves.

 

Simply means they know what the USPS limits are ( Media > Priority).

 

They sure saved my bacon, that weekend it rained like crazy, and we had no idea the sump pump was off, because we were at a concert that night in Bethlehem. Fortunately, only the bottom four inches of every album sitting at ground level was soaked... Weeks running a fan in the dining room, laying-out LP's sleeves and jackets where I could make a difference...every couple hours I would walk in, flip a few over, until they seemed safe enough to move out of the breeze for the next batch...my whole Classical and New Age boxes lost a lot of paper and cardboard, but Sleeve City kept everything that finally dried-out, secure in plain white shucks and sleeves.

Maybe some day I'll tell you about the comic collection...

what's the current threshold to spend so that the high shipping cost combined with coupon yields a decent deal?

 

I usually buy ~$50-$75 worth. The media mail rate (under $10 from what I remember) seems decent for that amount of inners/outers.

 

Yeah, thats about what I normally do as well.

Don't forget to add 4-5 free samples as well which is always a nice little extra.

 

I honestly never understand this every time it comes up. I just checked my account again before I posted here, to be 100% sure my mind wasn't playing tricks on me.
My Media Mail charges are always in the $3.00 - $5.00 range for just one or two packs of inners or outers.
Maybe because they're in Memphis and I'm just 239 miles East ?
