Gee, hard to beat that one Ken.:sigh:;)

The Exorcist has always been one of my favs. Still creepy after all these years.

Dave, I think Ken is asking for a movie that is meant to be something else (say, a comedy) but you find scary because of casting, plot, whatever. But Ken can speak of his intentions without my help! :)

    Ken,

That's a tough one to beat. But I'm going to say "Dude, where's my car?" and "Tomcats" are equally bad.

Well, it was first and foremost a joke, but in the interest of actual content, I'll say that in the traditional "scary movie" sense mine is probably "Night of the Living Dead". For the "scary that it ever got made" type, it is the film pictured above, although honorable mentions go to other misguided musician-centered films such as "Can't Stop the Music", "Spice World" and "Under the Cherry Moon". The Justin/Kelly movie has just opened today, so we may see a revival. :)

    Regards,

Don't forget such classics as "Cool as Ice", "Glitter", and "Crossroads". All playing right now at the multiplex in hell.

I updated the thread title to get the idea across without ruining the terrible surprise.

Scary that it ever got made? Gee, that applies to a lot of contemporary films. Creepy Scary? Carnival of Souls is a good one. I think Roman hit it with Repulsion, and The Tenant is right up there. Rosemary's Baby wasn't bad either.

The music isn't so bad--not so great, either--but it's just the overall visual weirdness of it all. And Gene Kelly, what the hell was he thinking....
Other than a fat paycheck, that is...

    Mud,

I've never even heard of "Wild in the streets". But I'm dying to know why it sucks!

God, it was TERRIBLE! From 1968, I believe. The theme was that youth ruled the world. On the lp cover the banner on the podium tells it all. "Trust No One Over 30!" was one of the themes.

Here's a tiny blurb from the webpage where I found the lp cover:

Rock star Max Frost is elected President by giving 15-year-olds the vote, then puts all the oldsters in LSD camps to be reprogrammed for grooviness. This was actually well-reviewed by some at the time of its release, but time has not been kind. Silly summer-of-love teenage wish-fulfillment trash. With Shelley Winters, Hal Holbrook and Richard Pryor as "Stanley X" (!).

Any movie that includes a scene in which the lead character has to access a computer file now, in order to secure the evidence/infect the alien network/disable the bomb, usually involving guessing someone's password.

The low-angle shot of the CRT-illuminated actor's face, the rattle of the keyboard, the Windows blips and buzzes that signify success and failure, the convenient timer at the bottom of the screen: It has got to be the most cliched scene in contemporary cinema.
