Peter Buck’s solo records had songs with Mike Mills, Bill Rieflin, and Scott McCaughey. Only Mills was an official member of REM but the others were longtime touring/recording members.

Technically, there's no such thing as a "Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band" album, as he never titled any of them that way.

All of Bruce's albums are solo albums...

Unless I missed it, no one has yet mentioned the involvement of David Gilmour and Roger Waters in Syd Barrett's The Madcap Laughs.

Thought it was implied: none of Bruce's studio albums are credited to the ESB! :nyah:

Of course, Roy was busy with non-E Street projects from about 1976-81: Bowie, Meat Loaf, Stevie Nicks, Dire Straits, Peter Gabriel, etc.

Wiki's entry for Roy isn't exhaustive, but it implies that he didn't do any session work between 1981 and 1996, which seems strange if true.

If he could fit in all that work while recording/touring with Bruce 1976-81, couldn't he find time after that?

Various Byrds did this, but usually just on a song or two per solo release. Roger McGuinn's first solo album has all five original members on one song, and David Crosby appears on (I think two) others.

McGuinn and Clarence White appear on the first solo LP by Skip Battin, the band's final bass player. White appears on Gene Parsons' Kindling CD, and Crosby and McGuinn both appear on two of Chris Hillman's solo CDs, including his latest one.

Hillman appears on Gene Clark's Firebyrd and No Other LPs, Crosby and Hillman appear on McGuinn's Back from Rio CD, and as Dunedin said, Gene Clark with the Gosdin Brothers has Hillman, Michael Clarke, and White.

I don't think any other Byrd has ever appeared on one of Crosby's post-Byrds records, though. Anyone know Crosby's discography well enough to say for sure?
