George's "Beautiful Girl." Released version was great, but as a Beatles song, i'll bet it would have been a #1 single.

How about a Record Day exclusive 12 inch 45rpm 2 record set of Too Many People b/w How Do You Sleep and Wah Wah b/w Back Off Boogaloo?

I've often thought of RSD exclusives featuring combined solo Beatles...how about a great EP of not so ***super*** famous early solo songs from each?

I agree. I also wonder if the others would have pointed out the similarity to 'You're So Fine' if it had been a Beatles single. Whenever Ringo would write a song that was basically a rewrite of an already written rock song, they'd always point out the similarities to him. It may have saved George the lawsuit over that one! ;)

I'm surprised that song didn't end up on there, to be honest. Since they rehearsed it a bit during the Get Back sessions. Same with 'All Things Must Pass.'

Quick take (and easily 20+ more):

    #9 Dream -- Lennon

    Gimme Some Truth -- Lennon

    Jealous Guy -- Lennon

    Watching the Wheels -- Lennon

Run of the Mill -- Harrison

Your Love is Forever -- Harrison

I'm the Greatest -- Ringo ... well, it was three of the Fabs as it was

    Photograph -- Ringo

Live and Let Die -- Macca ... if worked out with the Fabs it would be improved since Lennon would have fixed the dorky "In this ever changing world in which we live in..."

I never considered this as a Beatles song. But you've triggered my imagination and yeh, I think you are right.

"Back Seat of My Car" is one song I really wish the Beatles had done. I'd prefer it on Abbey Road over "Maxwell's Silver Hammer."

I think its impossible to grasp how different the songs might have turned out as a band effort, so i'm just going to put forward as recorded solo Beatles songs that I think are on a level with the topper most Beatles songs i.e. Yesterday, In My Life, Something, etc,

    Maybe I'm Amazed
    Instant Karma
    My Sweet Lord
    What Is Life
    Beware of Darkness
    Working Class Hero
    Love
    It Don't Come Easy
    Imagine
    Jealous Guy
    Happy Xmas (War is Over)

The truth is though, a lot of songs of George's done by them didn't typically sound like "Beatle songs".

I agree! That would be my choice as well if I had to swap one out on that album.

I can imagine the Beatles rocking out with Lennon's song NEW YORK CITY, and imagine Harrison's lead solo for Wings JUNIOR'S FARM.

It would also fit well on a Beach Boys or Brian Wilson album. ;)

I have over 11,000 posts on the Forum and this is the first time I've ever been accused of being a troll.

Pardon me for not joining your Cult of "Paul McCartney, the Second Human Being Who Walks on Water."

Didn’t Beautiful Girl date back to 1965-66? I recall reading a George interview where he said as much.

EDIT: He started it in 1969 and apparently was rehearsed a bit during Get Back sessions.

Probably not the first time it has been thought though. I've thought it for a long time, but never said anything until you started accusing others of something you clearly do.

Don't get me wrong, you probably sincerely believe your posts don't come off as trollish, but I'd bet money that @schnitzerphilip feels the same way.

schnitzerphilip has been called out for being a troll at least 20 times that I've seen (all in Beatles threads, and again, just those that I've seen).

You and I (with several supporting my views) have gone back and forth on Beatles threads (with your Paul is God posts) to the point where I just leave the threads since, in my opinion, you rarely answer direct questions but instead try to change the subject when your hero doesn't show up in a favorable light.

Feel free to search my posts and point out any time that anyone other than you, tonight, have called me out for being a troll.

The post that started it all today, in this thread, was the following:

Now that is clearly a troll post... and several people called him out on it.

Nobody in their right mind would actually think that in the 50 years after the Beatles broke up that they, combined, wrote / performed only one song "that would be considered one of the best songs if it was on a Beatle album."

He's clearly trying to rile people up.

    Everything I post, I believe.

Some are opinions, some are facts -- when I've been shown that what I've stated to be a fact is proven that I'm mistaken, I acknowledge it.

If some blind faith hero-worshipers don't like the facts I lay out, or my opinions, that's not my problem.
