I'm gonna link here to the recent Pattie Boyd thread
where I couldn't help but post many pictures several times ....
Patti Boyd = the greatest muse ever?
of course, it quickly turned into an "all about muses" thread, same as this one ....

Marianne Faithful was also the inspiration for "She's a Rainbow" IIRC

Numerous Doors songs, lyrically, were inspired by Jim Morrison's famous muse, Pam Courson...

Just two of my personal favorites are:

    Love Street
Riders On The Storm (Third Verse)

And, of course, Jimmy Page reportedly wrote Tangerine, inspired by Jackie DeShannon.

Yes, indeed! The song of hers that he reportedly took inspiration from was Knowing I'm Losing You.

According to Wikipedia: The song was written by Michael Hutchence and Andrew Farriss of the group INXS, after the band had gotten back together after a year-long sabbatical in 1989. The song was named after a woman who had bleached her own hair because she had "dyed" by her own hand and who was "love devastation". It is rumoured that Hutchence's then-girlfriend, Kylie Minogue, gave him the inspiration for the title while working on her 1989 film The Delinquents. Minogue was required to dye her hair platinum blonde for the role.[citation needed]

According to Souther himself, interviewed in a BBC radio doc on Sill, he is the subject of the song.

Billy has lots of songs. Another being Blonde Over Blue. Some others from his first wife. One or two for his daughter.

Of course, sometimes great/classic songs are written "by muses, for muses" in the same band! And not always out of sunny love, but sometimes turbulence...

Most every song on Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" (1977) :)
